They've been talking about it for a while and now it's here.

EA Sports has detailed their Season Ticket pass program , which gives gamers early access to new titles in the publisher's biggest sports franchises. Plus, subscribers can get a 20% discount on downloadable content.

For an annual fee of $25, you can receive all sorts of nifty little benefits for the likes of Madden NFL , NHL , FIFA , Tiger Woods PGA Tour , and NCAA Football . But above all else, early access to each new installment is by far the biggest incentive.

Season Ticket subscribers will be able to download the full version of new titles three days before the game is on store shelves. But there is one caveat- those downloadable versions of the game won't be available after the game drops into retail stores. Hence, if you want to keep playing, you'll have to pick up the retail copy. Thankfully, all save files will transfer over so you won't lose your progress.

EA Sports wanted to stress that this program "is not taking any features or development resources away from the standard retail releases." Head of worldwide development Andrew Wilson added:

"When I think about EA Sports Season Ticket, this is an entirely additive program. It doesn't take away anything that's on the disc; it just gives you access three days earlier. It doesn't cause you to pay or buy premium DLC you don't want; it just gives you a discount if you plan on purchasing it already. The web-based features are completely new and additive to the game experience, and if you don't want to manipulate your console experience while you're away from the console, you can do it all right there."

Finally, you should know the subscription won't auto-renew but of course, EA will tell you when your benefits are about to expire. And they also intend to follow this Season Ticket program through into other EA franchises, so stay tuned for that.

and the online passes are not?
if anything this is allot better then those, because at least out of this your actually getting something!
would come in handy being able to get games a little earlier.
especially fifa 12, releasing the same day as allot of games i really want to get.

You only get it 3 days before everyone else ? I think I can wait 3 days instead of forking over $25.

I don't mind the whole pass concept, but if you buy enough EA Sports games to even think of needing that..

..EA should be paying YOU!!

I'm all about these passes giving you access/discounts to DLC and stuff but $25? I get FIFA on day 1 every year, but I doubt I'd get $25 worth of stuff out of this for just FIFA since that's the only sports game I play. I've been a PS+ member since day 1 but I'm 99% sure I won't be doing this!

Nope, I an't falling for this, EA sports is alos trying to take our money too now, huh? I agree with you Maxpontiac. If you buy enough of there games to consider getting this, They should be paying you! There games is not all that great. Madden has been the same for six years and finally this year it is sounding like they are finally fixing the problems and leaping into what Madden 15 would look like. I know almost all of there games should be worth about 30-40.
Why can't prices be decided upon the quality and the amount of money put into it. Not "oh, all the other games are a $60, let's sell it for that too." BS!!! Why you think sales are so low, because it an't worth the money and your going to have low sales, make less money and lose your job or not have a sequel.

Prior to the 2010-2011 season the only EA sports games I would buy were NBA and NHL and only rent Madden. Unless they're going to make you pay to unlock team's third jerseys and updating rosters in NHL I have no interest in that program.
