Deus Ex: Human Revolution will launch on August 23 and as the long-time fans know, it's all about choice.

Your character can learn all sorts of abilities and techniques, and it's up to you to shape his style. If you want to turn the game into a run 'n gun action/adventure, you can do that. But if you'd rather play it cool and operate from the shadows, you'll have to upgrade skills that enhance your stealthy aptitude. In the latest developer diary, they talk about stealth tactics:

Very cool. By the way, the first few reviews have already hit the Internet; PC Gamer, for instance, awarded the game a very high score of 94. If you've been following the series from the moment the original captured the hearts of gamers and critics, you're not surprised. Really, this hybrid action/RPG has always had its very own flair.

Yeah, Bioshock is pretty close in terms of gameplay. But Deus Ex is Deus Ex , damnit.

Given that the original Deus Ex has been PC Gamer's top PC game for the last few years, and mine, it's nice to see that this one is deserving of the name Deus Ex so far. Can't wait for my collectors edition to arrive. And to answer the question, I'll be more on the stealthy side of gameplay with loads of hacking skills just I did in the original.

Gotta have it. Gotta think of a way to get it. I also read somewhere that OXM gave it a perfect score.

A score won't mean nothing to me for a title like this.

With a legendary predecessor that created many a memory for me, only i can truly see if it holds up due to it being personal…..that and the fact that most "critics" have been a laughing stock this gen, of course.

Very excited nonetheless. The video was good, if not a bit violent….but i guess that is an option. Good stuff.

Since when was 80% a bad score? It's not!

This caught my attention: "combat, social, hacking, stealth" -> Social?? A social way of playing the game? Like, interacting with the npcs?

Yep, manipulation is implemented in this one from all I've read. Though I wonder if it'll be any more in depth then the higher charisma bonus speech options and such that other RPG's have had in the past.

When I saw that option I pictured being able to walk up to any enemy and chat my way past them. 😀

absolutely, there is allot of NPCs you can talk to and if you know what to say you can get info for free, or even info you would not be able to buy.
you can also talk yourself into areas, instead of spending 20 minutes sneaking in.
its really hard though, its not like sweet talking or anything like that, you really need to think about what your saying and how it could be interpreted.

Got Invisible War for Xbox 1, hope I enjoy it if and when I find the time to play.

Invisible War was alright but nowhere near as great as the original. It's worth playing I suppose but you'd be better off playing the original PC version or the PS2 version. Or even better, the PC version with the hi-def texture pack installed 🙂 The game is kinda ugly now visual wise but the gameplay more then makes up for it.

Totally OT World, but how's Far Cry 2 so far, gotten – uhm – far?

I enjoyed it quite a bit. One of my favorite original xbox games. =)

World,

Just a suggestion here,

Since DE:Invisible Wars was actually the 2nd DE, you should start with the best "DE" so far, which is "DE: The Conspiracy"(2002 for the PS2) which was their very 1st console DE.(with over 140 GOTY & top game awards).

Also, you can get "Project Snowblind"(2005 for original xbox) which was actually supposed to be DE:#3, but they decided to make it as it's own stand-alone game, complete with a Multi-player.
And since it has the same stealth, shooting, bio-augmentation, conspiracy, & stealth that the all other DE's also had, it's often called by many DE buffs, as being the true spiritual successor to the DE franchise so far.

I own them all, except for the PC versions.

BikerSaint, not sure if you are aware but Project Snowblind is also for the PS2. I have had it in my collection since maybe 2007 or so, but have yet to finish it. I think I'd gotten quite far though, maybe almost near the end. I really like it and place it among my top rated/favorite FPS games along with TimeSplitters: Future Perfect. As for the Deux Ex games, I think I played a few minutes of (or watched my uncle play a few minutes of) Invisible War on PC. I'm not totally sure if it was IW, but my memory seems to lean towards that one.

H8WL3R,
I wasn't aware Project Snowblind was done for both consoles, so "Thanks".

Guess now I'll have to find myself that PS2 version too.

I will be all about stealthy in this game unless if I'm desperate to get a kill. Besides there are to many shooters out there, COD for example run and gun.

Hmmm, I may buy this sooner than I thought. It definitely looks super good. I always choose stealth options when I can. 😉

I often talk my way into and out of things, but then I kinda get upset with myself for not causing more carnage. Course that's in Fallout, no idea if this game lets me have that patented World swagger in my words.

but thats the exact problem with the game.
if you want to go stealth then you have to upgrade your args.
so what if you want to play stealth on the first few levels where you have not had enough time to build up enough points to purchase them?
thats another problem, they take FOREVER to save up for!
it takes so long to build up enough xp to gain 1 point, and allot of args require 3 or more to unlock.
again its giving me 20 cents to pay the weekly bills!
