I still remember the Warhawk beta. At first, I didn't have any idea what to do…and damn, it seemed slow . Then I found the triangle button.
Months later, I was having a blast with one of the first great games for the PlayStation 3. And you can bet I'm not the only gamer who wants the spiritual successor, which is in development at Lightbox Interactive. Starhawk will feature a single-player campaign in addition to what is guaranteed to be stellar multiplayer fun. Now, you want to test that multiplayer right? Well, here's some good news: Lightbox boss Dylan Jobe made a mini-announcement in the Comments section at the PlayStation Blog:
"Rest assured that Harvard [Bonin, senior producer Sony Santa Monica] and we at LightBox Interactive will make damn sure there is a really great public BETA for Starhawk."
Yep, an open, public beta. Jobe adds that we'll get a chance to play it "when the time is right" and hopefully, that'll be soon. We would also like a launch date for the final product; for now, we just know that Starhawk is slated to arrive some time early next year.

Very interested in Starhawk… I like the whole idea of the space theme and cannot wait to see some decent footage of the game running. I thoroughly enjoyed Warhawk when it first came out, and still play it from time to time…
Q!

As am I.
I believe it's smart to hold off on Starhawk with so many PS3 exclusives and multiplatform tiles arriving at the end of 2011.
Anyways, I played a ton of Warhawk, and what they have done with Starhawk sounds promising.
After the incredible showing at E3, I am definitely gonna jump in on this one. Starhawk looks amazing!! Like a cross between red faction and star wars!!
Damn, i haven't seen that footage yet! Then again I never caught the whole of the E3 broadcast due to timing issues. I will have to search YouTubby for some Starhawk vids. The still pictures look impressive nonetheless…

Agreed, but I want to know just how long and deep the SP is before certifying a purchase for myself.
Let it happen, i'm down.
The question is, will it use an online pass program?
Oh, don't be silly. Of course it will.
was so excited for this, till i found out the campaigns only going to be a few hours.
whats the point of that?
what happened to anything worth doing is worth overdoing?
sorry, but you just lost a sale there.
__________
Well thats 2-3 hrs of extra gameplay then Warhawk, no?
yea, but i dont play MP games because sonys too tight a$$ed to shell out for dedicated servers so i have to put up with lag galore!
so im going to spend 110 bucks for a 4 hour game?
Warhawk had dedicated servers, so I do not see why Starhawk wouldn't.
Definately not missing out on this one. The demo was earth-shattering for me. I can't wait until they release this game.
