We all know Ninja Theory is currently working on the Devil May Cry reboot (dubbed "DMC"), but Capcom seems to have something else up their sleeves.
A reader has pointed us in the direction of the Capcom-Unity blog , where they've detailed a fan-art contest in commemoration of Devil May Cry 's 10th anniversary. The winning entries will be featured in a new, unannounced title. We have no hints but here's part of the contest announcement:
"Think about all the iconic characters from Dante, Nero, Vergil, Trish, and Lady and all the fantastic weapons they have wielded. Think of the bosses and many battles Dante has had to cleave his way through. And most of all, think of the style that all this has been done in, from Dante’s cockiness to Sparda’s impeccable honor! The winners of the competition will receive a place in history when their artwork is featured in a new, to be announced Capcom game! (plus a copy of said secret game when upon its release!)"
One might wonder what the project is; after all, if they're not referring to the new DMC title, what might it be? Characters from the series have popped up elsewhere, though, such as Marvel vs. Capcom 3 , but we're thinking about something special…like a blend of Onimusha and Devil May Cry . Sweeeeeet.
By the way, if you fancy yourself an artist, you should enter. Submissions are due by July 29.
