Future God Of War Details And Updates

It's God of War mania! Tomorrow is the launch event fans have been waiting for, and everyone's on the edge of their seats awaiting the blockbuster title's availability. 1Up's Matt Leone is LiveBlogging the event, and during the course of the conferences, all kinds of cool information has come to light.

First of all, regarding the recently confirmed God of War for the PSP, director Cory Barlog has revealed that it will not be a port. In his words-

"It is its own story that connects to the overall story. God of War, God of War 2, and then if all the stars align God of War 3 will be the telling of a trilogy. This PSP story will be a further fleshing out."

Of course, Sony has made a big deal out of the PSP/PS3 connectivity feature and the recently announced PlayStation Home , but as of yet, there is no news on how the franchise will address either option. Heck, Home is still plenty new and Barlog said they "just found out about Home" themselves. So the GoW team might take advantage of that in the future, but no details just yet.

Lastly, and perhaps even more intriguing, is the announcement that the next God of War will run in full 1080p resolution and utilize both the Sixaxis' capabilities and …rumble? What? Oh, but it's true! In addition, they're talking about the good possibility of online play, co-op, and extra downloadable content, all the goodies we're rapidly getting familiar with in this new generation. However, Barlog did say he thinks the game is much too big to go "episodic," even though extra content isn't out of the question.

All kinds of good stuff. Geez…who else wants GoW III, like, now?
