E3 is upon us and you know, we've realized that times have changed.

The hardcore gamers can be all over E3 even without attending. The major conferences can be seen in real time at multiple locations (and on either the PC or your TV), and these days, most of the fans are aware of the big news before any source posts up a headline. Communities explode with all sorts of discussions and arguments and in general, it's just loads of fun. So we figured we'd give everyone the chance to talk about everything E3-related here at PSXE.

Why here? Because no other site will offer the following prize package:

For that third prize, I'll give the winner an option of several things; one of which is bound to appeal to you. That lucky person will be chosen based on their overall PSXE participation during the course of this week:

We want you all over the damn place; we want you chatting about the latest E3 news in our forums , we want you interacting with our members in the comments, we want you following us on Twitter , we want you checking out our YouTube Channel and you know, it couldn't hurt if you're signed up to receive our newsletter, which goes out twice a week. You can also participate in other ways; i.e., writing up user reviews, sending over some cool wallpapers, etc.

In short, we believe E3 is for the gamers, not for the journalists. This is a great week for the industry and we should all revel in it. And because PSXE may be ready to expand a bit in the coming weeks, we'd like to invite all those PlayStation and Sony fans to our E3 party. Come on in, check us out, read the up-to-date headlines, and above all else, become a member of our community.

But don't forget about the simple rules for this contest-

You must be a U.S. resident.

You must be 18 years of age or older.

That's it. Get ready!

Oh boy, US-only. I should've seen that coming. LOL Anyway, I already visit your site several times a day, follow you on Twitter and subscribed to you on YouTube. I usually just read though and if I ever need to say something, I do it here in the comments. Best of luck to the American PSXE followers then! ๐Ÿ™‚

That's very kind of you guys, wonder what that third option will be. I get the feeling I'll be exhausted by the end of wednesday but I'm also really looking forward to reporting on it and finding out where all my money will be going in the near future. Honestly I'll be happy as long as Sony makes with its awesome exclusives, I get plenty of Final Fantasy info, and Dead or Alive makes a return. Nintendo should be interesting and I feel bad for MS fans getting very little but multiplats.

Unfortunately I am not a US resident… so that rules me out. I am also 18 hours ahead of the scheduled times of E3, which makes life interesting but difficult at the same time…

I enjoyed having G4 last year to watch the conferences live, but I guess it's not really that necessary anymore. Looking forward to this week, that's for sure!

It's kind of a consequence of being a US based web publication. They can't run a competition in another country without operating from that country. Legalities, lawyers, practicalities, that kind of boring thing…

cLoudou

Actually you must be a US President to win, another typo. Yep residents are outta luck too. Damn you Ben and your restrictions!

You really just have to be in the country, legally or not.

Qubex

Surely shipping items across the world is not so much of an issue today with Fedex and/or DHL.

But I guess there is only so much Ben and the crew can do; from an administrative perspective, it could be quite tough and time consuming.

Qubex: Actually, it's a colossal pain. Not only is it far more expensive but with different countries having different customs rules, and me having to fill out six trillion forms just to get a few games over there…

Sorry, it's just never worth it.

Beamboom

Six trillion forms just to send an item as a gift? Then how do the families manage to send xmas gifts to/from their american relatives? Or how are the us based web shops able to serve the entire world (I order parts for my RC cars and engines from US to Norway almost monthly)?

I'm not saying I don't believe you, but why is there a difference between a web magazine in the us and a web shop or family relative? Sounds incredibly bureaucratic!
Oh well, I'm just being grumpy for not being able to attend. ๐Ÿ™‚

Well Beam, you are forgetting. This is contest. A web based store sells goods. I am sure there is a difference.

One that's apparently not worth it to PSX.

Underdog15

Yeah, each country has it's own sweepstakes rules. Like you mentioned before, Beamboom, in your country, for example, you can't say something is free unless there is no monetary transaction involved.

In Canada, for example, we can't genuinely win anything free without "earning" it. If I were to win, the law would require me to do something to earn it… like a skill-testing question. (Usually simple arithmetic) I guess you could argue that in Canada, nothing is free as everything must be earned.

If Ben were to open this to everyone, he'd have to abide by contest rules for every country, which I'm pretty sure you cannot do unless you have a company rep in each country that participates. I can think of many more examples besides this site that keep contests strictly within their own country.

The only other option would be for Ben to start an international corporation and make this site owned by that corporation. Then he could conduct contests for everyone, but even then he'd still have to abide by each country's rules.

It is quite a bit more complex than it appears.

Some country's would be easy to do it for, like Canada, as US and Canada have fairly cheap shipping options, similar laws, and open trade-ways. But you can't just pick a small handful of easy-to-serve countries either. (I'm willing to bet Canada is the only affordable place for the US to ship to) It's easier all around to just make an easy-to-run contest and keep it local.

It sucks, but I understand why Ben does it the way he does.

Beamboom

Aha, I see. Yeah things are almost never as easy at one might think. Thanks Underdog!

Still.. it does suck. And I am still grumpy over it. ๐Ÿ˜‰

Agree with everything you said though Ben. E3 is totally for the gamers, especially since every gaming website out there will be streaming or blogging everything going on.

Feels like I'm in LA right now, waiting in line to jump in and check stuff out.

I will definitely get any web based news on E3 right here at PSXE.

Even though I don't really make much of an effort to enter contests, it's always cool to see who wins and read about their excitement over the prizes.

E3 has always been about the gamers, you dont think sony, ninty, M$, ect ect do all this to entertain journos do you?
thats the whole point of these things, to get attention, and hopefully gain a few sales.
same with motor shows, ferrari dont spend millions bringing there cars over the world to different car shows out of the goodness of there heart!
shocked and disappointed EA wont be streaming there confrence tomorrow!
awwwwww, come on!
ninty, M$, $ony, and ubisoft are doing it so why not EA?
god dam it, i really wanted to watch insomniac and respawns new game announcements!
plus there going to be showing off heaps of BF3.

Awesome competition, Ben. And because I live in the good ol' US of A I will do my best to participate. I started by dusting off my twitter account and following you guys!

Here are some of my predictions for tonight's conference: Quick apology about the PSN outage, LOTS of info about NGP (offical name, dates, *hopefully* a price, complete launch line up, and next year's games), some things with Move- give me a reason to buy one, Sony!, The Last Guardian and Team Ico collection release dates (no more delays!) and lastly, I'm hoping for an announcement of some 2012 exclusives we haven't seen from or heard about (but heavily rumored) GoW 4, Sly 4, Syphon Filter 4, and hopefully David Cage's new IP.
