Unfortunately, the ICO & Shadow of the Colossus Collection has been delayed.
But at the very least, Japanese gamers will get these high-definition remakes for the PlayStation 3 later this year.
According to Andriasang , the remakes will be sold separately in Japan on September 22. Each game will be sold for ¥3,980 (about $50), or consumers can also purchase both titles in a single package for ¥6,980 ($87). The latter seems to be the superior deal, especially because it comes with a 100-page booklet and dynamic PS3 themes. Plus, if you can read Japanese, you might want to visit the freshly opened websites for these HD overhauls. We've said it before and we'll say it again: we're talking about two of the greatest games of the PS2 generation and indeed, any generation. We consider the remakes a must for any collection.
And if you haven't played either yet, you really can't pass it up. Let's just hope the Collection isn't too far off for North American gamers. Same goes for The Last Guardian , by the way.
Japan always gets screwed in pricing but they get the benefit of having far more content available to them and usually first dibs.
Now that is true LV… whilst the western players must wait for titles long after many Japanese titles are released…
ICO and crew are popular games, here is hoping it won't take long for these do be released in the west; surely Sony wouldn't want unwanted delays…

I'm absolutely going to buy this collection! I may not mind the two games being sold separately (as they're both worth every penny), but I really hope that the collector's edition would be as neat as what Japan will get.
I hope they release a collectors edition over here.
That's wickedly expensive, I ain't spending that much on some old games.
Any more TLG at E3? Hope so.
You wont have to, it will be cheaper when it comes to the States.
Better be substantially cheaper, like $40 for both.
games like these are the reason i play videogames! beautiful artistic made with alot of love & passion for the media. simply stunning!. i don't care what it cost.

September 22nd my dreams come true.
But i don't like the fact that Ico and shadow of the colossus are releasing on the same disc.I want the full cover to be seen for Ico and Sotc.
but it's also good for other people cause it's cheap and many gamers will also play ICO which is an Epic game!
I want those Dynamic Themes.
The place where yorda is trapped and the secret garden in sotc.

Where's the Xbox 360 announcement for these? lol.
… Did you seriously just ask that?
hahaha you funny i'll give you a thumbs up for making me laugh!
It happened to Peace Walker. I just expect those announcement these days.
The difference between MGS and the ICO games is that Team Ico is a subsidiary of SCEJ. Unless Sony are giving up on the PlayStation brand, it's not going to happen.
Word, I didn't know they were owned.
Cool. I guess that means that the rest of the world can expect an early 2012 date announcement at either E3 or Gamescom, with a follow up announcement of a TLG date at TGS. You can bet that I'll be picking up the whole set!
Man, I can't wait for this to hit North America. I sure hope we get some more Last Guardian info at E3. More than anything I wanted to see Last Guardian at last years E3… So please throw us a bone this year Team ICO, at least a new trailer.
Between all of the hd collections and games I want, I'm going broke! Day1 for this though
As PS Gamers, this year and next for that matter, I think we all have a reason for becoming broke. 😉
Yes, this!
And I'd also love to see another artful masterpiece redone in an HD collection for the PS3 too…all of the "Okami's"
🙁
my god how many times are they going to delay this!?
really want to play these 2 for the first time, but by the time they do GT8 will be out!
Sigh, cannot wait for it to come out though!
@World
Lol, considering it was part joke, part sarcasm, and all humor. But yeah, that DOES seem to be the trend these days.
Delays do suck, especially since I've held off on playing my PS2 versions since I heard of the PS3 HD Collection. I'd actually move them up on my backlog list as my next games to play. And yeah, I'm hoping that they come out here at the very affordable $40 that I remember reading/hearing about awhile back.
TLG looks sick as well, so hopefully we'll hear something soon about it at E3 or something. Even through trailers, I'm touched by what I see. The relationship between the boy and his beast, the music, the atmosphere; it all takes me somewhere. Team ICO sure knows how to set the mood, lol.
While I'm excited to see how these remakes turn out (LOVED the originals), this news just makes me more pumped to get my hands on The Last Guardian.
The Last Guardian might even trump Uncharted 3 on my most anticipated list… maybe.
i will get the japan collector edition, the game does not have lots of conversation anyways, therefore, Jap version is fine. plus I want that extra artistic book. very nice package.
