It's not a confirmation but why the heck do they need a "PlayStation 3 Specialist" if…? You get where I'm going with this.
There have been a lot of rumors that Blizzard would bring the long-awaited Diablo III to consoles and now, there's a very strong indication that it'll happen. There's a job listing at the studio's job portal; it's for a Senior Software Engineer with prior knowledge of Sony's machine. Part of the description reads: "…responsible for overseeing PlayStation 3 (PS3) architecture design, as well as other PS3-specific game code development to maximize platform performance." Well, that's self-explanatory. Last year, Blizzard was looking for a lead designer for "consoles" so it seems clear as crystal: Diablo III will be coming to consoles, or at least the PlayStation 3. Unfortunately, the game still appears to be a ways off.
And at the rate this project is going, we don't expect fresh news any time soon. But who knows?
Cool news, I'm glad to see more PC only games making their way to consoles so more can enjoy them but I don't want to see a trend of PC games being lowered in quality due to it.
haha, good one.
About time… to be honest, there has never been a reason why PC only games could not be made for consoles… i mean you need a mouse and keyboard, and they cost nothing to pick up.
Publishes should at least give players this option on all titles… FPS's would become that much better on consoles…

It's good for people that don't have gaming PCs. Diablo is a PC game before anything else, so I'm sticking with PC.
Why is it taking so long to make this game? Diablo is just a top down action dungeon crawler.
It's like Blizzard and Valve are in competition for slowest developer.
When the predecessor becomes the fastest selling game of all time….i suppose you wanna get the next one right!
It's the Duke syndrome.
um, yeah and Uncharted is "just a third person action adventure", what does that have to do with anything??
Blizzard is known for taking their time with all their games, and that's one of the reasons they're one of the best developers in the world.
Yes Diablo 3 with move support will be awesome.
One of my most anticipated.
There has been a lack of this genre this gen.
If they are I would like to see the first 2 on psn.
I say bring it. But then we have Starcraft: Ghost to remember…
It's rumored for Q4 2011…
Loved D2
Hoping they do spectacular stuff with the visuals… and also give as a PSN demo to boot…

Seems there is an idiot among us thumbing down for no apparent reason…

its great to know that d3 may come to the consoles but still feel it should stay on pc just cause it feels better with a mouse and keyboard on a point and click game like diablo. either way still pumped for d3, waiting sucks though.
Ah, but what if they forgo the isometric view in favour of a more standard third-person, over the shoulder perspective? That way, they'd eliminate much of the need of the point and click, without requiring too many other changes to the combat and whatnot (based on what I remember from my time with the first Diablo).
@Lawless Sxe
i remember the original diablo on ps it was good but didn't fit the style they had on pc, plus mainly is being played and more successful on pc. they cant change it to much cause than its not diablo at all. most of the changes from what ive seen and read is the overall look/design of diablo and feats like your helper can finally wear all parts of armor and wear amulets and rings.
so it could be for different game, but who knows cause i know the ps3 you can have a keyboard and mouse plug into it but its mainly for internet that i know of.
Cool. I remember play Diablo on my psone and loved it.
I wouldn't get my hopes up about Diablo III or any current Blizzard title coming to PS3 or any other console. Blizzard announced that they were working on a new IP a while ago, and I wouldn't doubt that it is what will make its way to a console near us, rather than Diablo III. I think DIII is too close to shipping for them to start looking for console engineers now.
That would be my guess too.
just because blizzards looking for a ps3 engineer does not mean diablo 3 is coming to it, last time i checked diablos not the only game they make!
i honestly cant see it coming to consoles, genre just does not suit consoles.
plus most console players are too impatient to appreciate dungeon crawlers like this, and the witcher 2.
speaking of the latter i really want to get it, played a few moments of it at a friends house and really enjoyed it.
plus it looks STUNNING!
so good in fact it makes crysis 2 look like a freaking sega megadrive game!
Actually, I bet they are trying to bring WoW to ps3. It will be a sad day when that event occurs.
Blizzard's stated in the past that they can't imagine WoW on a console, and had no plans to ever make a console version. The main reasons are that WoW is more than just a game to Blizzard, it's a social platform and in addition, WoW is essentially too complex from a control/interaction stand point to be properly played on consoles by the average user. Given how rare headsets alone are among the PS3 community, I can imagine that not too many will be willing to buy or use a keyboard for WoW.
Got sad with my loss of the Necromancer class 🙁 But oh well…I really HATE the cartoony look that WoW is causing to be put into stuff but sigh, guess can't do anything about it. I'll probably keep playing D2 for a longer time though.
I miss the Necro as well, but the Witch Doctor is looking to be my new favorite. But my hopes are up that other classes will be added with the future expansions. Either way, just as the previous two games, many months will be spent with this new one.
i'd have to say, about time with the power of a ps3 we for sure could play pc games on it at least certain games. it would definitely be a good move to work out how to get pc games on ps3
I wouldn't be surprised if they brought the 3rd out to the PS3 but one would think the 2nd would come as well, I loved playing diablo on my ps1.
PS3 specialist? That could be for anything, especially the on/off Starcraft Ghost.
"It's good for people that don't have gaming PCs."
The only reason why developers are bringing their games to consoles stem from the fear of piracy, however deep down I really doubt many PC developers are passionate about bringing PC-centric games to console given the fact that:
1)the current consoles have hampered them taking advantage of the lastest PC technology
2)piracy is starting to become more and more rampant on console e.g. the PS3 and PSN hacking.
In the end I predict in the near future you're going see many PC-centeric developers(like crytek) begin rethink their committment to the consoles given great leap forward of PC gaming technology that have been taking place

That has already started happening this year. Capcom has started making that shift as has DICE as they have stated that the consoles are holding PC game development back. And within the last month Ubisoft has stated that they will begin using the PC as the lead development platform again as well.

While this is all true, what I am really trying to say is that we'll once again see an era of PC-only games and simpily because PC developer are growing wary of being held down by outdated technology.
And yet it's still better then some of the crap that comes out these days.
So old, but still the best action rpg made to date.
