A great many people really liked Darksiders , and THQ is counting on those established fans to purchase the sequel when it arrives next year.

Darksiders II has been announced ; it'll come to the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and PC some time in 2012. Perhaps surprisingly, we'll control a new protagonist; rather than War, we'll be following the adventure of the horseman Death. Essentially, this isn't really a sequel, as the story runs parallel to that of War's plot, which we've seen. As far as gameplay goes, THQ said to expect "a dramatically larger world" along with "upgradeable equipment, new enemies, and bigger dungeons." Although we had a few small issues with Darksiders , it was still a fun, solid experience and we imagine the designers can take the next step.

As promising as this follow-up effort is, it's probably a good idea to avoid the holiday rush this year.

How well did Darksiders sell?

I'll be interested if they get rid of those challenge arenas. Those are never a good idea as part of a campaign.

Dudes would be like "Go here and stuff, you can't continue until you do" and then you'd go there it would be all "Kill so many bad guys in this time limit to advance" and so forth.

I actually enjoyed that part of the game… It's not like it was super difficult, if that were the case I could see the problem. I think I liked it because it gives you a glimpse of how powerful your character is, I think it's the only part in the game where I had to use everything in Wars arsenal.

Darksiders problem with me were bosses only two of them were kinda cool.

Also it need another attack button imo, if they fix those two things in the sequel it could be a solid 8.5 or moar.

Hope they still make a version for each console I liked this move with the first Darksiders, no damn ports!

I played the first Darksiders not too long ago and thought it was pretty great. Super fun combat, puzzles, and exploration.

What should be fixed is the the frame rate, especially when riding your steed. Larger world and everything else sounds good to me.

Color me excited. =^.^=

Gonna see if I can do a borrow swap with a mate. My Arkham Asylum for his Darksiders. That way I can maybe get excited for this, and also pick up the original on the cheap if it really appeals to me. Good deal, or what?

I loved Darksiders. I wasn't expecting much when I bought it but the theme kinda interested me and it was not too expensive. I threw it in and was hooked from the word go. The atmosphere, the puzzles, the exploration, the hidden treasures, the bosses? Can't wait for a sequel.

And you know, changing the main character is not a problem. War was cool, but the main attraction was the atmospheric world. Changing to another horseman won't have an effect on how fun it'll be.

I was very pleased with the first Darksiders. Sure, its a blatant ripoff/combo of LoZ and GoW, but they did it perfectly so i dont even care.

Eh. Darksiders wasn't that great. This'll be another one of my skips I'm afraid, unless it somehow looks far better.
