Okay, it's a little funny.
As noted by Game Informer the shock jock for the ages sent his roving reporter Wolfie to the recent TooManyGames 2011 event in Philadelphia. And yeah, he mocks the hell out of video games and game convention attendees but then again, that's his job. How can you take anything Stern says seriously? Stern flat-out bashes the somewhat incoherent responses and then the insults escalate; we'd probably be more offended if we didn't know Stern's past includes being a hardcore geek. Even if The Legend of Zelda isn't in his past somewhere (although I'm willing to bet good money it is), we figure if he isn't slamming on something , nobody will pay to listen. I mean, is there anything else he has to say that's worth paying for?
I wouldn't know. I spend all my time inside playing video games, avoiding the sun and dressing up for cosplay conventions.
…in all honesty, I'd just love to go on his show and arm wrestle that skinny punk.
Isn't He Dead Yet ?
not yet, dammit.
Ahh, he's pretty two faced as far general topics and people are concerned.
Indeed!
People still listens to Howard Stern?????
I Know I Was Shocked To
Honestly, I thought it was pretty dang funny. Kind of like a roast. My only issue was the jamoke playing Team Fortress that said "Black people don't play games because they use real guns." That guy was a sad specimen for gamers and human beings in general, if you ask me.
@PorkChopGamer
Yeah! I agree.
And apparently there are 2 people that still do listen to Howard Stern.

Ben, I bet we could get one of the resident female gamers here at PSXE to beat him in arm wrestling.
remove the 'arm' from that post. just sayin
IMO, just another self-serving non-irrelevant has-been that never was, nor ever will be.
P.S…..and one super-fugly triple-adams-apple turkey-necked SOB too
LOL
Theres still truth to what he says, but of course its exaggerated. But losers like this exist around the world in all mediums. I didn't listen to the whole thing, but the guy who talked about jacking off to MK characters was hiliarious. I heard it like 3 days ago.
Howard is a washed up talk show host. Everything he does now he has been doing since he started. IT's the same old crap and will never be any good.
Still has the same outdated look too…lol
He's doing the same old, yes, just like some gamers wish from their fav publishers… FF, anyone? 😉

RE… we call for change, then say that remaining the same is outdated. Hoominz cunfooze mi.
Eh, like you said, it's what he does. It brings to mind the old Triumph the Insult Comic Dog bit from Late Night, when Triumph was ripping on the people in line to see Attack of the Clones, though that was much funnier if you ask me.
Listening to some of the people he interviews, they sound almost *too* stereotypical, leaving me to wonder how much of this was staged. Of course, I've never been to a convention, so I don't know first-hand. Either way I'm not going to let it bother me. It's entertainment, you can't take it too seriously.
Ha, Triumph was great, but this guy's just a hack.
And "Demon Dog" gives Triumph 1 thumbs up
Triumph was the only reason I watched that show. Still laugh out loud when I watch his DVD. And his bashing of all the Star Wars fans at one of their conventions was just priceless.
Triumph was a rip-off of Ed The Sock.
p.s. I've been to 2 conventions. There are some pretty stereotypical geeks there, but I wouldn't be surprised if people "played to the camera".

Did not know he still had a show, is it local radio that he has been delegated to now?
Doesn't matter either way, I know my games are awesome, I don't need some escapee from the old folks home to tell me what is "cool."
No he's on Sirius radio, worldwide satellite based pay-radio.
Last edited by Beamboom on 5/16/2011 4:41:39 AM
Are you able to subscribe outside of North America? Besides, I thought, given the satellites locations, their the signals would be confined to the Americas.
So does this old fossil actually have an audience for video game bashing? How weird do you have to be to be a part of THAT audience?
I mean a video game convention? In Philly? What, are baby showers next?
I'm 60 miles from Philly & I've never even heard of any gaming show there, so it's news to me……minus that rubber-necked pop-fart
We can laugh at ourselves. Can't we?
i've always thought that this guy was an ass
wheres Anon when you need them?
in that picture, it looks like hes wearing a wig?

Who?
Stern should dry up and blow away. I mean the guy is about as sleazy as they come, and to be honest outside his extreme fanbase he's not considered to be more than a distracting nuisance. The days when Howard Stern's words mattered petered out when acid house was still the 'in' thing…
… but who else's words matter in the radio world today? Ref my comment later down here, I believe Stern is an important exception in an otherwise tragically over-commercialised, spineless radio world. Even the calculated "hip" radio personalities are so utterly political correct, so streamlined to not *really* offend anyone, it's sad imo. For the love of God, do NOT upset any potential advertisers.
One may not like his style, or his way of entertaining, that's almost the whole idea. But I really miss *personalities* on the radio. It wasn't always like this.
One may compare Stern to the small independents in the gaming world. He's not *important* in the true sense of the world, he may not even be "cutting edge", but the world would be a shade more grey without him.
Last edited by Beamboom on 5/16/2011 4:38:08 AM
Opie and Anthony, for one are waaay more relevant and more cutting edge than Stern ever was. Yes Stern invented the "Shock Jock" but in todays standards he is a dinosaur.
Beamboom, you should listen to the morning show here in KC,MO online @ 98.9 the rock dot com. Johnny Dare is really a radio personality that I think you could get into. People really do listen to him all over the country even though his show is only broadcast on the radio locally. I don't agree with everything he says but he's far from your description of radio hosts.
@Sancho: Is it streamed on the web, or even better, a podcast? I'd love to check it out.
I *love* radio, it's something "magical" about it, like reading a book, "nothing beats the mental images". Yeah, pretty dinosaur, but so be it 🙂
However I got very high quality demands from what I listen to. Preferably quality journalism, and so far I've not found anything that's even close to the standards of BBC.
I take it your guy is more on the entertainment side of things, but I'll sure give it a listen given the chance!
Last edited by Beamboom on 5/16/2011 6:17:26 AM
@Sancho Yo I listen to Johnny Drae EVERY morning! Johnny,Carrie (sp?)T-Bone and Jake….with occasion Craig. Glad to live in KC MO cause JD is the business. Rockfest would be nothing without him!
BeamBoom
there's nothing else in the world like BBC Radio 4 (and possibly the World Service). That said, I'm thinking about this through a decade old filter and the Beeb has indulged in digital proliferation since I was in the UK. Still, I can only hope that Radio 4 remains what it was, the radio equivalent of an old school broadsheet newspaper.
The only thing I learned from Stern: You could look like beef jerky wearing sunglasses as long you worth well over a million dollars you can convince any former super model to marry you.
And who the hell is this guy? Ehh, I don't care.
na na na na.
na na na na.
hey hey hey goodbye!
tis what they will be singing at his funeral.
… and he'd love that. 🙂
I like Howard Stern. He's quite the character in an otherwise tragically over-commercialised, spineless radio world.
Who's Howard Ster….oh yeah, one of those overhyped idiot blowhards from the 80's/90's who only 1-2% of people ever cared about!
Howard Stern sucks, freakin' fossil
Funny thing is, with the ps3 being my first console I have absolutely no idea what "The Legend of Zelda" is, other than that I recognise the title. Is it the game with the cute dragon on the cover?
You console players tend somethimes to think that console games are all and everything gaming 🙂
