Yeah, it's yet another potential top-tier title for October.

Namco Bandai has revealed that Ace Combat: Assault Horizon will deploy on the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 on October 11 in North America and three days later in Europe. Described as the title that "invigorates the franchise and brings intense action into the fore," flight aficionados have been waiting patiently for the return of this renowned franchise. You may not realize that New York Times bestselling military author Jim DeFelice ("Leopards Kill," "Threat Level Black") penned the story, and we'll visit plenty of real-world locations, such as Dubai and Russia. Said Namco Bandai Producer and Executive Director Kazutoki Kono:

"ACE COMBAT is a beloved franchise and we’re excited to take the series into a whole new direction with more visceral and fast-paced action. Players around the world will find an adventure that will keep them glued to the edge of their seat. They’ll feel their adrenaline pumping with every bullet, every explosion and every near-miss escape."

Introducing a revolutionary close-range assault system that offers max-speed acrobatics and one-on-one encounters that intensify dogfights, Assault Horizon looks to be one of the year's best. So even if it has to go up against everything from Batman: Arkham City to Twisted Metal to Dark Souls , there's only one game that offers mid-air craziness!

Oh excellent, I remember we've been talking about this game eve since Namco was advertizing for devs with this kind of experience. Nice to see the game arrive after such a long anticipation.

This is a must game for me.

All I know is that I am looking forward to this game. One of the few Multiplat titles that gets my money regardless.

Well, putting aside the whole multi-plat thing and probably dumbed down a bit so de widdle xbox can handle it, lol. I'm glad to hear one of my all time favorites is hitting the ps3. I wonder if they are gonna release a flight stick like the one they put out for the 360? Hmm something to ponder.
