The Unreal Engine 3 is a hot commodity this generation, and one LucasArts obviously wanted.
LucasArts and Epic Games, Inc. have announced a "long-term, studio wide agreement" for the Star Wars: The Force Unleashed developer to create "multiple projects" with the help if Epic's award-winning Unreal Engine 3. Said Zak Phelps, LucasArts director technology:
"Unreal Engine 3 is a forward-looking solution that shortens the path between inspiration and execution on a wide variety of gaming platforms. We are thrilled to add another exceptional tool to our technology mix."
Epic VP Mark Rein added that his team "can't wait to see what happens when LucasArts combines their talented workforce and amazing intellectual properties with the Unreal Engine 3." Although many have questioned the aging engine in regards to recent releases, there's no question the UE3 remains a favorite amongst developers in the industry today.
Of course, our question is inevitable: when can we expect to see the Unreal Engine 4?
