Metal Gear Solid: Rising won't be here until next year, but might we have some very early details…?
Well, we always find it difficult to trust nameless sources in video game forums. That being said, the information posted by user Kolokovitchk in the GameSpot forums seems awfully detailed to be entirely false…not that we'd put anything past those wishing to make a big splash via lies. But after calling himself a "Professional Writer," he says he has first-hand knowledge of Rising , and he runs down various details for graphics, gameplay/controls and sound. Some of the key tidbits include:
— It uses an updated version of the MGS4 engine.
— The cover system from MGS4 will be included, but it'll also be upgraded.
— Character movement compared to Fallout: New Vegas, although this may be attributed to the game being early in development.
It's feasible that all of this is accurate, but until we hear anything from an official source, we'll take it with a grain of salt. But feel free to read the whole thing and decide for yourself; you might even want to sign in and ask a few questions. For my part, I'm interested in Rising – who isn't? – but I have my reservations.
P.S. Also, bear in mind he's talking about the PC version.
