Who said RTSs are only available on PC? Okay, most of them are – and certainly best played on PC – but that doesn't mean the PlayStation Network can't make an offering to the strategy gods.

Developer Seed Studios has dated their new RTS for the PSN, Under Siege . Dubbed the "first RTS created from scratch and exclusively for the PlayStation 3," this downloadable effort will launch on May 3 in North America and a week earlier on April 27 in Europe. The only possible downside to this announcement is the price: $19.99. Now, we have to remember that this is likely a very full real-time strategy experience and we've seen $20 downloadable titles before. Many, like Wipeout HD , have been well worth the price, too. Under Siege places you in a fantasy setting and is compatible with PlayStation Move…although for the life of me, I can't see RTS fans bothering with that particular feature. There's also two-player local split-screen and online action as well.

This is one of those games that will appeal to a select group of people, but those people are usually pretty passionate about their RTSs, so… Besides, who doesn't like robust game editors?

Hopefully it'll be good and have Move support.

Never mind about the Move support. I should pay more attention about what I'm reading. To early in the morning.

Why wouldn't people want to play with the Move feature? From my understanding it made R.U.S.E. a somewhat enjoyable game. It would be extremely similar to a mouse and with the nav controller it could make a mini hot key controller. Then if its that complex they can throw in a wheel type UI pulled up with one of the triggers like Red Alert 3 had. Seems like the best way to play imo.

I was thinking the same thing. The main problem with strategy is that the pad is so utter useless on those kind of games – that should be a proven fact by now. Although the Move is no mouse at least it's one step closer to us not missing ut on an entire genre because of the shortcomings of the pad.

… and btw, it *did* make RUSE an enjoyable game. I'm playing it with move these days. However the arm get a tad tired from using move for longer periods. No rest.

Played 100+ hours of RUSE with Move and it was deffo a significantly better way of doing things than with a gamepad (the gamepad setup for RUSE was good, but it was no Move). If they get it right with Under Siege, then it's probably one of the key features of the game. Move done right + Strategy = huge win.

Beamboom, try and rest your arms on your legs/a pillow/somewhere, so you don't have to support the weight so much.

I wish these RTS games for the PS3 would offer keyboard and mouse support, we know it's possible!!!! If they're going through the trouble of offering MOVE support surely a mouse would be easier to implement.

Now that's an excellent point actually. Yeah, why not go all the way and provide support for mouse and keyboard?

Sounds very good. Includes a game editor too! Allowing creation of your own maps and game modes.

PSN is killing the online competition.

Journey, Rainbow Moon, This, Puzzle Agent, Mechinarium.

Speaking of Rainbow Moon, i have been speaking to the games director (name dropped PSXex) and the stuff he said about it sounds like a SquareSOFT masterpiece! A huge update should be coming soon, but a bit of what i was told is that it'll boast a full non-linear world map like days of old, TURN BASED battle system, side quests, missions, towns with shops etc, countless dungeons that feature battles, puzzles, secrets galore.

I mentioned that we all here are that type of RPG starved so show it love when it arrives!

RTS + controller can only end up with one result.
i miss the days of age of empires, real shame the next game in the series is strictly a MMO.
