The latest MotorStorm looks to be a rough and rugged urban blast, and now we have a finalized date.
According to the PlayStation Blog , MotorStorm: Apocalypse will be on store shelves in North America in just a few weeks time. As of May 3, you can get your hands on the game that features "more action than a Hollywood blockbuster." Check out the interview with director Matt Southern, and don't forget that all new copies of the game will include a voucher for the Premier Pack DLC, which will grant you two exclusive in-game vehicles and more. If you pre-order, you can net one of the exclusive Carbon Edition vehicles (supercar, rally car, or superbike) and considering this game's potential, you might want to do that. We've been itching to get our hands on this bad boy all year; MotorStorm has always been fun, but it looks like Evolution Studios has taken this one to another level.
And it's safe on May 3, now that Duke Nukem Forever has been pushed to June 14. Not even Call of Duty would want to tangle with The Duke. No way. The best game ever? Get as far away from competing with that as possible…
Related Game(s): MotorStorm: Apocalypse
but im looking forward to LA Noire in may 🙂
Good, its almost here then! So, when is the beta coming?
Unfortunately this goes on my birthday or christmas list because L.A. Noire and Witcher 2 in May then Infamous 2 in june.
Despite my earlier comments about taking SOCOM 4 over this, I think that if I feel like buying a new game this coming weekend, I'll pick up Motorstorm: Apocalypse for sure (it's been out here in Aus for about a fortnight now). I don't know if I will, I still have Yakuza and 3D Dot Game Heroes unopened on my shelf, but it's nice to have the option.
Peace.
Looks like SOCOM is getting it's nuts kicked in the reviews department.
Yeah… it's terrible. I still do want to try it, but I just can't find it in me to pay $90+ for a six hour campaign, no matter how good it is or how many times I'll play through it. I'll pick it up in a few months along with KZ3.
Peace.
FYI, if you subtract the score from the morons at Destructoid, the game is averaging about a 7.5.
The morons at IGN and Gamespot too
I still think people should letting reviews (someone else's opinion) dictate or detour from at least trying a game. Reviews are ok to look at, but you never whether or not you gonna like it until you play it yourself whether that be over a friend or family members house or just renting it.
P.S. I find most Gamespot reviews more tolerable compare to IGN's.

Let me correct my typo.
I meant "I still think people should STOP letting reviews".
"but you never KNOW whether or not you're gonna like it."

I didn't necessarily mean that the game is terrible. Just that the critical reception for yet another PS3 exclusive is below expectations. I was seriously expecting an 85+ average. As I mentioned, the reportedly short campaign has turned me off, rather than the content of any of the reviews that I've yet read. And again, I will pick it up, after a price drop.
Peace.
Disagree Scarecrow, Chris Waters did a pretty good video review of Socom in my opinion. He was pretty positive about it… Still, it will be interesting to see what Ben gives it in his review.
Q!
"play.experience.enjoy"
The destructoid review was AWFUL. He openly admitted to not spending much time with the competitive multiplayer. WTF? The gamespot review was actually overall very positive and the most informative one I've seen so far. The score was lower than I expected but I'm not overly concerned. Unfortunately, it seems that Socom is becoming a victim of people who wanted Zipper to make absolutely no changes from Socom 2 and from the CoD-age we live in.
I thought the Beta was solid with not nearly as many bugs/lag as some reviewers are mentioning.
Apocalypse already. I thought it was due December 21st, 2012.
I was super disappointed when this got pushed back because I had just bought my 55" 3D TV and love the MotorStorm franchise with a passion. I'm really anxious too play this, so I'll be picking it up on launch day!
The thrill of not getting wrecked, and a changing terrain will be amazing.
That's something I always love about Motorstorm, every lap is a different experience.
Now THAT'S what I call an avatar!! 🙂
That's why I love this site! Good people, common interests!:)
do yourself a favor and get motorstorm pacific 3D rift instead.
the 3D effects in that kick the royal tripe out of the 3D effects in this!
plus its a much better, more entertaining game.
cheaper too!
Gotta love Scrat! Best animated character all-time 🙂
I hope to get this for sure, high on my list.
Yeah, I think going to have to pass on Socom and it saddens me to say that. Think i might get Portal 2 and MK at toys r us for buy 1 get 70% off. I've never played a Motorstorm game but this looks really cool. I kind of lost interest in racers for a while. I love me an arcade racer though.
Well, the TRU sale is buy one get one 40% off, it ends today (April 16th), and those games don't release until Tuedsay. First Socom 4 and now this. Keep it together, bud, it'll get better.
I like the overall look of the levels in the new Motorstorm.
Oh and I was just wandering are we not getting anymore Burnout games cause I would love to play a Burnout Paradise 2.
it got an 8 out of 10 in opm. their main complaint was apocalypses spectacle stealing the spotlight from the actual racing. it's a solid score but did not rate as highly as split/second or blur.
Looking forward to this game, the first Motorstorm was just yet another one of those great early PS3 games when supposedly "PS3 had no games"…
I will second the first. If you haven't played the first Motorstorm you are missing out. I remembered when I first played it I felt it wasn't a huge leap in graphics, but the physics of the game is what blew me away. You actually felt like your whole vehicle was interacting with the environment and other cars. It was the perfect balance between arcade handling, and simulator. I also think the tracks were better in the first game. The only thing that is lacked was split screen, and that goes back to first gen PS3 games. Split screen was almost unheard of in the first couple of years on the PS3.
I got Socom 4 off ebay somebody had it early hehe. I got to say it's really not that bad and a 7-7.5 is about right to me. There's no way Socom 4 is an eight or higher.
eh.
i am seriously bored with it.
each mission is a repeat of last, theres barely any variation in the maps, and the vehicles almost feel the same.
when a quad bike feels the same as a supercar, you know somethings wrong!
pacific rift is such a better game then this!
I can't say it'll be a D1P for me, only because I've become a bargain game purchaser (and have a RIDICULOUS backlog of games), but it's a definite purchase. Own the first two plus the PSP iteration, and this won't be any different. If anything, I'm more psyched about Apocalypse because this is like one of those Cruisin' race games with a hint of Twisted Metal (can't wait for that either), but with a gigantic taste full of the MotorStorm franchise. I love that even though it's an arcade racer, it has a level of realism behind it, and I don't just mean the graphics. In other words, this game's gona be off the chain!

I just saw IGN's review on this game, and while I'm always skeptical when it comes to IGN reviews I have to say I'm yet again disappointed in how this game looks, going by the video review.
Frankly I'm starting to get a little worried about this year's trend of subpar should-be-AAA PS3 exclusives. First KZ3 not quite hitting the mark, then really sloppy stuff like PlayStation Move Heroes, disappoiting Socom 4 and now Motorstorm??
What happened to the polished AAA first party PS3 exclusives we all know and love?!?! Once again I have to wonder if Sony is just putting way too much emphasis and manhours on 3D & Move support for all these new titles, sacrificing everything else in the process!
