It was one of my favorite RPGs of the last generation, and I've long since wanted a sequel.

It probably won't become a reality any time soon, but it's interesting to know that at least at some point, BioWare was working on Jade Empire 2 . As several sources are reporting, the LinkedIn resume of ex-BioWare lead level designer Rafael Brown cites "Jade Empire 2 (360/PS3/PC)" on his list of "unreleased games." The first title released back in 2005 for the original Xbox and PC and he claims he worked on the follow-up effort between April 2006 and April 2007. Obviously, we never heard anything about that project and today, it seems BioWare has left the Asian-themed RPG behind, pursuing the likes of Mass Effect and Dragon Age . Then again, provided there's enough fan outcry, the developer might still give Jade Empire 2 a go…not that we're holding our breaths.

The loading times were totally insane and the control and camera could be a little wonky, but I still had a ton of fun with the first game. Anybody else?

I tried to like this one but it never happened. I bought it day of release, hot after reading IGN's unprecedented review. I liked KotoR quite a bit and I was thinking JE was going to grab me, but it was a moment that never came.

Oh well

IGN was credible? I can remember when that site first started and read like an online version of Wizard Magazine's trite infantile horse pucky.

…that's just me tho'.

It was at one time, at least in my opinion. They weren't fanboys until this gen.

I didn't know it was an RPG, I put the game in, got in a few fights and was all like "This is all there is to this game?" and shut it off for good.

I won't hold my breaths either ūüėČ

LOL world, I think you needed to play a few minutes longer. There were different characters to play which were essentially different classes and as you leveled up you got new abilities and what not.

Yeah it's the only asian, martial arts, rpg that I've ever played.

I think River City Ransom was the first real attempt at that. Absolute classic.

Not really the kind of RPG I'm looking for.

Its a shame you didn't play it any longer. It was like Mass Effect 2 in the sense that there were lots of RPG elements and dialogue options but the combat was action RPG oriented. The game got hard and you could have your team mates not fight but just meditate and it would boost your passive regen or boost damage too I think.

It really got good and the story was amazing one of the bests bioware has done I think. Mind you I'm a sucker for chinese mythology and have been a martial artist since I was four so I might be a little biased ūüėõ

I enjoyed this game for what it was. I remember hearing about a 30 to 40 plus hour campaign before it came out. I think I beat it in 20…Still a fun game, as is almost anything with Biowares name on it.

I got the collectors edition for like $10 after it had been out a long time. I played it for a while and really liked it, but got distracted by other stuff and never actually beat it.

I did enjoy it though and still plan on beating it at some point.

in fact its more likely that dolphins come out of the sea, and take over the world like in that episode of the Simpsons.

Back in 2009 they announced that they do have interest in making another, but so far no announcement. I would gladly pick it up if it sees the light of day in the future.
