Fall is always the busiest time in gaming, and it's no surprise to see so many huge titles scheduled for that period.
In addition to games like Uncharted 3: Drake's Deception , Batman: Arkham City , The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim , and the great possibility of Mass Effect 3 and the new Call of Duty , yet another big title seems to have been scheduled for autumn: DICE's Battlefield 3 . We knew it had been tentatively slated for "fall 2011" but now it seems a date of November 2, 2011 has been set. This is according to a screenshot found by CVG ; it's a capture of the EA Download Manager, and the date is clear. However, it is odd that November 2 is not a Tuesday (new games typically release on Tuesday in North America) and EA hasn't officially confirmed anything just yet, so take this with a grain of salt. Still, nobody would be surprised if that date turned out to be accurate.
Featuring the awesome new Frostbite 2 engine, Battlefield 3 is already perceived by many to be a front-runner for Shooter of the Year.
