Freshly announced, Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City is on every horror follower's lips.

But when will see more than that teaser trailer ? Perhaps the first official gameplay unveiling isn't as far off as you might think: according to a Famitsu interview with game producer Masashita Kawata, it seems the new series installment is already 45% complete. Plus, developer Slant Six plans to deliver a demo to E3 in June, which means attendees will be able to go hands-on with Capcom's latest big project. Based on this information, one could hazard a guess as to the game's ultimate release; perhaps early 2012 isn't a bad estimate. The publisher has released big games in the first quarter before; Devil May Cry 4 is one example. As for the game in question, we bet RE fans are anxious to prove to themselves that their beloved franchise remains…well, Resident Evil .

We reserve judgment until we can see the game in action. Operation Raccoon City is being prepared for the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and PC.

I am sure the demo will be of interest to people at E3, considering the size of the I.P. The question will be, will it be a disappointment to many a fan? Maybe everyone will get a pleasant surprise …or maybe not?

Q!

I want this to be good, I do, but Slant Six? oh man … not my favorite dev. They have a way of taking great franchises and … modifying their entertainment value. Sure hope Capcom knows what it's d… oh crap.

If they gave the IP to Slant Six, it will be a game based on what they do, a shooter!

It´s like when Sega got Boiware to make a Sonic game, and it was a great DS RPG. What did the fans expected, a 2d side scroller from a RPG-only developer??

The demo will fail epicly. Looking at the Socom Confrontation demo and how it was full of bugs and glitches lmao

confrontation had bugs, and glitches 1 year out from release, let alone its demo.

Since it's Slant Six, I'll expect the control to be like standard shooters.
But I also expect slow moving zombies since this is still in Raccoon City.

There will be hell if the zombies that was in RE3 suddenly started running in a spin-off.
