The NFL lockout shows no signs of ending, and one of the oft-debated topics regards the level of roughness and violence in the game.
Therefore, to reflect this new tension, Electronic Arts has apparently decided to institute a new feature in this year's Madden NFL 12 : players who suffer a concussion will be immediately sidelined. According to a post on his Twitter page , NFLPA assistant executive director of external affairs George Atallah seemingly confirmed this new gameplay element:
"Good for EA Sports. Concussed players in NFL Madden prevented from returning to play. Culture change is important."
EA has already confirmed that this year's Madden installment is very much on track, and we continue to think the absence of a season (or a delay) will actually benefit sales. If you can't watch football, why not drop into the virtual world and give it a try? Either way, EA's decision to treat concussed players with more seriousness is probably a good move.
