We don't fear video games based on movies quite as much as we did in the past. Things have gotten a little better.
And one of the very first titles to hint at a progression was Kung Fu Panda , a surprisingly fun and rock solid action/adventure from High Moon Studios. Since that time, the talented developer has gone on to produce the equally solid Transformers: War for Cybertron , which was both lengthy and accomplished. Well, now it's on to Kung Fu Panda 2 , which THQ has just announced. It's in development for the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, Wii and DS, and features an all-new story and epic confrontations. The legendary art of Kung Fu is in danger of disappearing entirely and now, with the help of Po and the Furious Five, you must save it and restore balance to the planet. You'll fight, solve puzzles, and engage in a bit of platforming, as was the case in the first title. We expect this sequel to be loads of fun for gamers of all ages.
Not all games based on films are atrocious. Really, we've had quite a few this generation that were more than playable.
