Hey, you know what's cool about L.A. Noire ? …damn near everything.
We're fairly certain Team Bondi's innovative crime thriller will challenge us in a way rarely experienced in the video game world. And we aren't the only ones to believe in the potential evolutionary aspects of the game in question: L.A. Noire is the first video game ever to be honored as an Official Selection at the Tribeca Film Festival . The promising title will be previewed during the Tribeca Talks series on April 25; it's a presentation that examines the game/film crossover. Rockstar boss Sam Houser says he's "thrilled" at the recognition and calls it "another step forward for interactive entertainment." Tribeca Enterpises' Chief Creative Officer, Geoff Gilmore, also seemed impressed:
"What Rockstar and Team Bondi have accomplished with L.A. Noire is nothing less than groundbreaking. It’s an invention of a new realm of storytelling that is part cinema, part gaming, and a whole new realm of narrative expression, interactivity, and immersion. We are poised on the edge of a new frontier."
If this isn't at or near the top of your priority list, we recommend you do some research. L.A. Noire could – like last year's Heavy Rain – be an indication of the future; a glimpse into what interactive entertainment will eventually become…
