We know a lot of you are excited for Rockstar's L.A. Noire but that enthusiasm won't hurt your wallet.
Over the weekend, the Team Bondi-developed title hit the road and arrived at the Penny Arcade Expo in Boston. There, those in attendance were able to get their hands on a 30-minute sample of the "Red Lipstick Murder." That should result in even more positive feedback; when the game arrived at PAX East, everyone seemed to love it, as evidenced by the preview roundup over at Rockstar's site. They list several very positive and encouraging snippets, including a "first of its kind" comment from GamesRadar and a "fantastic" assessment from ShackNews. But then, a bit of bad news: in the Comments section, this was the following response to a request for a special edition:
"There won’t be any special edition release of L.A. Noire, just the preorder bonus content with certain retailers as announced here: http://www.rockstargames.com/newswire/article/14011/presenting-preorder-exclusive-unlockable-bonus-content-when-you-.html.
Also as mentioned, all that content will be made available as DLC after the game comes out."
Oh well, we can live with that. There are bound to be plenty of limited editions for huge games all year long, so at least we can save our money. And if you're proactive and get your deposit down, you can secure that extra DLC, which is always a bonus.

definitely going to keep an eye on this title mainly becuease of the heavy rain comparisons. i thought the news out of pax was that while the facial scan stuff was good, it wasn't anything spectacular. guess we will have to wait and see.
this game started out as a ps3 exclusive so platform comparisons will be interesting. i'm not the biggest fan of the time period, but playing detective sounds like a lot of fun. interrogations, finding clues, and tracking down leads sounds like a blast. hopefully, they can pull it off.
Doesnt need a special edition the game itself is special enough.
I have high hopes for this game. I keep hearing good things, so I am fairly excited about what this game could mean!!
That's okay. I wouldn't have gone for a Special Edition anyway. Only have so much money for Special Editions this year and inFamous 2 is going to be the last one unless Naughty Dog releases one for Uncharted 3.
I feel the same way. I have infamous 2 on the list, but that's about it for Collector's Editions for me as well, except for Uncharted 3, if one is released.
Can't wait for this..this, inFamous 2, and Mortal Kombat are good ways to start off the Spring/Summer
Fine by me, most special editions aren't that special anyway, except for the price. I'm going after the infamous 2 hero edition and that's the only special edition I can afford.
Never bother with collector editions
But i shall buy this on day 1 none the less.
I might even don a 40's style hat while playing, just like when i wear my miners hat complete with head lamp for dead space 2!!
That would be quite a funny sight to see Lord Carlos…

Don't really go for special editions, but I may have sprung for one with L.A. Noire. As long as it included a hat like Cole's and the soundtrack, which is supposed to be really good. Too bad, I suppose.
Peace.
Who wastes money on special editions. Maybe if your a big fan, but I have never purchased a special edition of any game.
I never did get around to heavy rain, but this looks like it does basically everything HR did and much much more…. like you actually get to hit people in this.

Hehe – I gotta laugh, nevermind the story, "you actually get to hit people in this" 😀 Hillarious!
Well don't get me wrong I think story is important of course, but see if all you're doing is just making decision & there is no real combat to it (in what is suppose to be a game) then yeah I'm gonna pass on it, but this game seems to have at least some form of combat or at least enough of it to keep me interest even though you might use it all that much. HR seemed more like an interactive movie than a game.
This is just my opinion though I'm probably wrong.

My wallet can't handle a special edition anyway.
Ok so there's this, Infamous 2, Mass Effect 3 and Uncharted 3. Hello bread and water.
No Ramen? Haha.
… And what about Deus Ex, Bad Company 3 and maybe even Saints Row 3? 🙂 It's a good year indeed.

That reminds me…gotta go pick some up. Gaming is a lifestyle. lol
Ha!
Call me crazy but I am uninterested in this game. I am a huge fan of noir and all but there is just something about Rockstar games the I can't stand at all.
Well, the game was made by Team Bondi rather than Rockstar themselves. The game was also in development before Rockstar acquired it so maybe you should rent it to see how you like it?
I doubt Team Bondi will disappoint!

What other titles are from Team Bondi? The name is totally unknown to me… I think of this as a Rocstar project…!

i wish publishers would start showing off games here.
a game developed here getting shown outside, but not here is just ridiculous!
kinda glad theres no special edition though, they have become pretty lackluster and expensive lately.
last one that i thought was actually worth the cash was the ACB codex edition, now that was cool!
came with more kit and nicer kit then the KZ3 hig edition, and at half the price!
just goes to show how overpriced sonys CEs are!
