Some may have been surprised to learn about the new creation/customization option in Sucker Punch's inFamous 2 .
But if you thought another PlayStation 3 exclusive had a direct influence on the team, you'd be right. Development Director Chris Zimmerman told IGN that Media Molecule – responsible for the award-winning, innovative LittleBigPlanet – put the inFamous team on a different track.
"We were encouraged by the wild success of LittleBigPlanet… Even though it's a different genre and a completely different kind of game, it showed there was this thirst that people had for having this creation/sharing experience. We thought the same desires would be present for Infamous players, too."
Zimmerman went on to say he doesn't think such a concept is "right for all games," but obviously, there was room for it in inFamous 2 . We think it's a pretty cool addition and adds some flavor and diversity to a relatively straightforward action experience.
