Marvel vs. Capcom 3: Full Roster Trailer

Fans have had a long wait, but that wait is over.

Marvel vs. Capcom 3: Fate of Two Worlds is upon us and if you're a hardcore follower, you've already picked it up. But if you're a fighting fan and missed out on these great titles before, you might be intrigued by what Capcom has to offer: what they're calling the "best crossover ever." And if you're a Marvel fan, there's all the more reason to give it a try. Here's the final roster trailer-

It seems like the best of the best are included; Ryu, Wolverine, Morrigan, The Hulk, Chris, Deadpool, Dante, and more. This could very well be one of the best fighting casts ever assembled, and the possibilities are fantastic…"who would win…?" is the perfect theme for this one. Ready to throw down again?

Glad I can "officailly" play it. been playing this with my wife the whole last weekend and this week. (On the xbox *wink*)Love this game, the 10 year wait was worth it! Only thing is, I was spoiled with MvsC2 with the 50+ roster…but 36 or so aint half bad.

Oh yeah, great to see they incorporated Michael Jackson AND Ryu/Ken into Deadpool! (He moonwalks and kinda jokingly does a nerfed version of their Shoryuken)….So glad this came out better than the Marvel vs Capcom 3 Mugen game.

They did an awesome job paying homage to each character with their alternative costumes! I just dont wanna pay for DLC for 2 characters (one of which I could care less about – Shuma Gorath) and a few costumes…WTF? Come on Capcom.

I also love the new "dash" button. Makes the fights more frentic (in a controlled fashion) and just altogether more enjoyable instead of either jumping to get to your opponent faster OR using the forward forward command to dash.

PS. Best openeing sequence to a fighting game to date. Beforehand, it was Super Street Fighter 4

Rubbish, The best opening to a fighter (or possibly any genre) is Tekken 2, sets you up for the game perfectly.

From a technical standpoint….MvsC3 hands down…But I did love some Tekken 2. First game me and my wife EVER played together…a couple that fights together…stays together?…..doesnt sound right, but you get the point, LoL!

I was good at Tekken untill they introduced juggling, ruined it completely.

As long Seth is no where near this game I'm going to get this bad boy from Gamefly. I love Capcom fighting games but those final bosses fit the definition of cheap.

Seth or Galactus? Um, I would prob pick………NEITHER!! Seth was UNGODLY cheap but Galactus has a one and done move that will terminate all 3 characters at one time whether they're on screen or not…….

Galactus is easier to anticipate though. Yeah he hurts, but he drops fairly quickly depending on your team composition. I'll take Galactus over Seth any day as well. Seth just didn't fit the game anyway. He looked so out of place and a really weak design for a final boss character.

Sure wish Juggernaut and Blackheart are added later. I played them both Marvel Super Heroes and have used them both ever since. Also hoping that Lord Raptor, Psylocke, Thanos, and Cammy are added later on. Would be nice to see Carnage also. All-in-all it's a really enjoyable game though I would really like the option of using the old control scheme with three different strength buttons for punches and kicks. Sometimes the wrong moves come out when you try to do certain ones now. Still, it's up there with Blazblue in a fight for the top fighter title this gen, for me at least.

I'm enjoying it. It's really fun and that's what I usually base a good game on. How fun it is to play. The controls are easier, as are the commands for the special moves. which I like because I generally suck at fighting games. Although the controls did confuse me at first because I'm so used to playing MvC2.

I picked this up yesterday because I loved Marvel Vs. Capcom 2 on the PS2. I didn't care for the PS Network version of MvsC2, though, because I didn't like how the points system and store was gone from the game. The fact that everything was unlocked just knocked off so much of the fun and replay value to me. I was worried that MvsC3 would be like that and by the sounds of things, my fears have come true. Twenty characters less in this game with more to be available via DLC in the future? I'd usually be all over DLC for a fighter but it would've been nice for Capcom to add more fighters to be unlocked via the points system. Now I'm not even looking forward to playing it (sadly).

Same goes for upcoming Mortal Kombat. I REALLY hope they keep The Krypt. The Krypt and Konquest were so much fun in the PS2 MK's.

You didn't know about the dlc in this game? , and actually to match MvsC2 in rooster size would be almost unbelievable , they could made that feat because they recycled a lot of characters of the past games, this is a new engine.

Now new characters if they are cheap i would be okay with them has dlc…but costumes? that's just wrong! costumes should always be unlockables!

MadPowerBomber
MadPowerBomber

Unlockable costumes was something that Namco kinda started by having different costumes for characters at the start, and a few characters with hidden costumes. Some other companies started doing this as well, but Capcom has never done variant costumes before this generation. They've always done variant colors, and those are plenty unlockable in SFIV and Super SFIV.

Costumes are just an aesthetic sort of thing anyway, and it's not like anyone's twisting anyone's arm to pay for them. They're also relatively cheap when broken down. If you buy them by the pack, they're .83 cents American per costume, which ISN'T anything but pocket change. If you wait to get the massive pack of all the costumes, it's even less. I buy 'em, 'cause they're fun and add variation when I play, but they don't change the gaming experience.

If you don't want them, don't want to pay for them… just don't. ::Shrug::

They would look awesome in this engine!, but I'm worried about the price of the dlc.

Hope the price isn't like Blazblue.

MadPowerBomber
MadPowerBomber

highly, highly doubtful. Venom and Carnage aren't relevant in the Marvel Universe the way they were ten or fifteen years ago. Carnage is dead — I'm pretty sure he's still dead — and they keep revamping the wearer of the Venom symbiote every few years and bouncing him around to various places. The Venom that was in MvC2 is dead and the symbiote jumped to someone else and then another someone else later.

it's the same reason characters like Rogue and Gambit weren't chosen, they're not really relevant or popular in the comics anymore, whereas X-23 is a bit more relevant and Deadpool is the new Wolverine/Venom.

Carnage isn't dead. Cletus Kasady is but the suit has since moved on and is supposed to find a female host, if it hasn't already.

Love this game. HATE what I went through to get it.

Pre-ordered the Special Edition from…. BEST BUY! They were the only ones with the pre-order available at the time. Anyway, I go to pick it up and guess what? They sold it to a walk in customer. They sold 4 copies at that. And had the audacity to say that there is nothing they could do. No attempt to obtain a copy or any offer to compensate me whatsoever.Talk about customer service. They failed and then failed once again by refusing to remedy the situation. i spoke to a manager and he said that I could just buy the regular version. Basically disregarding my pre-order altogether. WTF!

I decided to take the regular copy and forced them to allow me to return it for a full refund within 30 days. Get this, they wanted to use my pre-order receipt for it. I refused. That is my evidence that I will use to communicate with their corporate offices. Madness. They had one copy left in their inventory but would not release it to me. I told them that I can guarantee that I will be much more difficult than whatever customer had that copy on hold. That would have bought them time to at least figure out what to do but no they decided that I am the one who will not get the game. Anyway, I emailed an Regional Manager that I am familiar with and am awaiting a response. Wish me luck guys.

I only pre-ordered there as a last resort. I usually do this well in advance and pay full price to secure my copy. This has never happened to me before. I usually don't get Special Editions either but for $10 the extras are worth it.

Anyway I got a response from the Eastern District manager an he will be looking into securing me a copy. The employees at the location will be reprimanded as well. Not just for the failure to secure the order but for the way they handled after as well. They really thought is would be over when I walked out of the store. Ill let you know what happens. Thank for the support.

I heard Best Buy is really shady about their customer services. They screwed up and you gotta deal with it. Like the other dude said I would deal with Gamestop or Amazon.

And X-Men vs Street Fighter was less than 20, this is a new engine, in order to make a game with the same rooster has Marvel vs Capcom 2 took a bunch of games.

X-Men vs Street Fighter,Marvel Super Heroes vs. Street Fighter and Marvel vs. Capcom: Clash of Super Heroes.

Have the game and at the beginning I couldn't belive how much changed!

Hey is a good game, solid 8.0-8.5 I'd say.. but M vs.C2 fans gonna hate this one at the beginning.

Hey I have a complain, no isn't about the roster (thx TGC)..but the crap Arcade mode..didn't they promise us this game was going to be a huge improvement plot wise? I didn't feel dat, Blazblue gonna remain like the best history on fighting games this gen.

Hell all fighting games should take Blazblue effort into putting a damn plot has a example to follow.

I'm giving it a 9.8, no where near as low as you've scored it. I was very much a huge fan of MvC2 — I spent so many hours on the Dreamcast version — as well as MvC and the rest of the Marvel vs. series that I got to play (X-Men vs. Street Fighter in the 'cades, and Marvel Super Heroes vs. Street Fighter evaded me to this day) and I love the game.

The changes they made to it helped the fluidity of the game and I'm wanting to learn as much as possible — as well as forgetting several characters are in the game until I fight 'em — where as in MvC2 I could barely be bothered to outstretch myself past my Iron Man, Cable and Iceman team unless I was trying to unlock the hideous amount of unlockable content. That was a chore and wasn't fun for me.

Full roster Eh….I somehow doubt that that's the FULL roster I mean c,mon you know they're gonna have some DLC characters somewhere down the line. I think I'll wait & see if they release it as Super Marvel vs Capcom 3.

Capcom stated earlier this year that there's not going to be all that many DLC-based characters. Jill and Shuma are DLC primarily because they weren't finished at the time the game was pressed. There's an article over at Shoryuken dot com that confirms this.

And I can't find any info on DocOck or Frank West being DLC from Shoryuken to Fight Gen, where did you read this from?

I was still looking for some the old cool characters to return like Jin, Hayato, and Strider, Captain Commando. The fact that I can't play as them gives makes me really sad.

Just starting to get used to my team, but still having difficult stringing together combos, especially with Dante =/ Btw, anyone else that get the special edition having problems with the codes? I was hoping to get Jill and Shuma before they released it, but it seems the code isn't available till the 15th of March. I asked a buddy of mine if he was experiencing the same thing, and he confirmed that it was the same deal with him.

MadPowerBomber

Jill and Shuma aren't finished and aren't going up until March 15th, the codes are redeemable then.

I figured that was most likely the case. Sucks, now I have to wait to come up with counter measures.

Edit: Just noticed you even said so earlier. Figures, go over every comment but one that answers my question xD

was going to get this today, but i still have not finished ME2!
cant believe how long that game is, ive sunk 18 hours into it and im still not upto the part i was on my 360 which i think was about 3/4s of the way through.
have not done any of the character side missions either!

one thing i really wish they would add to ME3 is the RPG system from alpha protocol.
thats the blueprint for making the perfect RPG!
in ME2 your actions really never have consequences, the way you talk to people, your choice of words really never change what will happen.
for example when you go to the krogans home planet you find their leader who is trying to cure the disease.
whether your nice to him, mean to him, try to be diplomatic or threaten to kill him it ends in the same way.
in a massive firefight!
whats the point of giving me choices but have them effect nothing?
the game feels completley linear, it feels like no matter which decision i make, no matter what i say the end result will always be the same and that just ruins the whole game!
thats why i enjoyed alpha protocol so much, because it actually feels like you have changed the game.
every time you choose something it shows you the consequences, and shows you what would of been.
who you meet, what missions you get to play, what equipment you have access to, the ending.
EVERYTHING is changed by your choices.
but in ME2 it feels like nothing changes!
