If you weren't aware, Team Bondi have put a ridiculous amount of effort into creating one of this generation's most anticipated games.
We know L.A. Noire will feature an excellent, in-depth storyline, crimes ripped right from the headlines in the 1940s, and that impressive MotionScan technology, which will allow us to read human emotions. But that's only the tip of the iceberg. Rockstar has put up several features outlining the Locations & Set Design and the Costume & Wardrobe . Team Bondi traveled all over L.A. to tour various historical locations, "collecting countless reference photos," and that included photographing "every square inch" of a hotel. As for the costumes and wardrobe, artist Simon Wood said "it was such a glamorous period for clothes," and they went and hired film and TV costume designer Wendy Cork to assist. Added Wood:
"It was a cast of bloody hundreds! The costume needs just kept growing and growing as the cases grew more elaborate and interwoven, but it really makes all the difference having all these different characters in the game world."
It's really amazing. You should read up on all the details; this developer may have taken some time in developing the game, but it appears they needed every last available second. L.A. Noire should be one of the most engrossing, authentic interactive dramas of the generation, and we can't wait to give it a try.
Oh, and Wood says what I've always said- "Sexy men and women in hats." Well, not so much for men, but women should start wearing beautiful hats again. Seriously.
