After extricating themselves from Microsoft's grip, Halo developer Bungie has been secretly cranking away on a new project.
The current rumor is that their fresh "10-year franchise," set to be published by Activision, is a massively multiplayer online game of some kind. This is due to the studio's call for "hundreds of thousands" of gamers to be involved in the upcoming beta test. But now there's a new development: according to web-surfing sleuth Superannuation , Bungie has placed four new filings with the United States Copyright Office; "New Monarchy," "Dead Orbit," "Osiris," and "Seven Seraphs." All were initially filed last July and they all carry the "Visual Material" indicator, but we can only guess as to what those names mean… The only other fact on the table is that Bungie's title will be multiplatform, as it has been confirmed for the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and PC. MMOs are hit or miss with the PlayStation crowd and we're still waiting on other promising titles like The Agency but for now, we remain interested in Bungie's project.
"Interested" is as far as we'll go, though…we really know nothing at this point in time.
