Sales sales and more sales. That's the way of the holiday season, and Sony is keeping in step with the money-saving rhythm.

SCEA has kicked off this crazy season with a big PlayStation Store sale, featuring more than a few PS3, PSP and Mini titles currently available on the PSN. The "Stock Up For Winter Sale" gives gamers a chance to nab some of the best downloadable titles of 2010; the likes of Joe Danger and Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker are included. All games involved in the sale are 50% off and the deal will run between November 23 and November 29, so be sure to snag what you want soon!

PS3

PSP

Minis

Honestly, if you don't have Joe Danger yet, now's the time. It's a must. And most all of those PSP games are well worth playing, too, so take advantage!

Nice. I'll have to get Joe Danger.

There are some great deals around right now, don't forget Atlus is 50% off on a dozen or so titles too.

The best deal of the year though has to go to Valkyria Chronicles 2 on PSP which I just picked up for $9.99 shipped. You can thank a combination of free shipping, Black Friday pricing and a 420 discount I earned by pre-ordering NFS HP. After everything that little gem has only cost me $9.99 – Woo Hoo!

I'm gonna grab Crimson Gem Saga while it lasts.

Yep, I've been waiting for the Joe Danger sale price, and here it comes. Woo Hoo!

I'm actually also excited for the Dragon's Lair PSN game that came out of no where. I'll probably get that, too.

Also, I see that Gamestop is selling Uncharted, Infamous, and KZ2 for $15 a piece on Black Friday. I've only played through the first Uncharted once as a rental, and the same goes for Infamous. It'd be nice to spend some more time with both of those games.

I'm not a black friday shopper, but while driving by in the afternoon and they look fairly non-insane I'll stop in a grab a game or two at that price.

I used to own KZ2, but, regretfully, I sold it. While I thought it was great, I still can't put it above or below Halo or MW for a number of reasons. Though, I do have high hopes that KZ3 will surpass the competition.

Sweet. Been contemplating to buy a PSN game, and could not choose between Joe Danger and Castle Crashers. This price drop tipped the scale in for the stuntman.

That's nice of them, but there's nothing there I need.

I'll probably be getting DeathSpank and maybe Joe Danger as well.

For anyone that has Joe Danger: is there enough gameplay if you play it as a puzzle game only (i.e., you aren't interested in score chasing)? I enjoyed the demo somewhat, but I don't really like the replay-until-you-figure-out-exactly-what-to-do-when style of game. I prefer to play through a level slowly, trying to figure out how to get to certain stars, etc. Is the full game playable that way?

I don't know exactly what you mean, but there are usually multiple reasons to go through a level. It's to collect all the stars (blue and hidden yellow ones alike), beat a certain time, get 100% on the trick meter, grab all the D-A-N-G-E-R letters, etc.

I mean, figuring out how to finish is only a small part of it, although it becomes the primary challenge in the very last levels because they're so hard to bypass.

Ben,

Thanks for the input. It's tough to explain what I mean without writing a long, boring explanation.

I like searching for the hidden bits and figuring out how to get to them. I don't like repeating the same actions over and over until I get it just perfect. Brainwork rather than thumbwork, if you will.

I also don't care about beating my last score or other people's scores, which I know is a big part of why people enjoy it.

So, I'm not sure that I'll get enough play out of Joe Danger to justify the cost, even at $7.50.

Well, there's both in Joe Danger. I would go through levels finding stuff before trying to beat a certain time, but the time goal was rare and you always had plenty of time to look around and explore the level.

For eight bucks, Joe Danger is just too much of a steal to pass up, but I admit it isn't for everyone.

Deathspank is a steal at that price. That has got to be the funniest game I have ever played. The writing is hilarious. Joe Danger was great too. Insanely addictive.

Hurray Deathspank and Joe for the price of 1 :).

My mom will be happy, she played the demo of DS and liked it. She's finally got something to play on my PS3. 😛

why dont SCEE ever do things like this?
yes, thats right there are people outside the US that have ps3s and PSPs despite what sony would have you believe………

Because it's Thanksgiving here in the US, and not anywhere else. There is a traditional round of sales in stored the Friday after Thanks-giving. The so-called black friday sales. In the UK and Australia/New Zealand (AFAIK) the big sales are after Christmas.

It's just a minor cultural difference.

fair enough, but how much you want to bet we wont be seeing any Crissy specials on the AU PSN?
i need to get some games for my go too, only 12 days till i go on holidays!

I haven't checked but I think Canadians will be getting these pre-Christmas specials too (we've gotten them in the past). But I would sure want any Boxing Day sales Sony might offer!

Anyways, the different regions offer different things. I sure wish we had Vidzone, but no, SCEE territory only. Would be nice to have PlayTV, but no, sorry, nothing for North America. I know PS+ people on the US Playstation blog are always complaining about what PS+ members are offered via the EU Playstation blog.
