Okay, everyone just take a deep breath…that's it…don't worry. No need to hyperventilate or break something valuable.
You may have noticed that several sources (like this one , for instance) have been tossing out rumors of a two-day delay for Gran Turismo 5 in Europe. It seems various Sony websites in Italy, France and Germany showed GT5 with a November 26 release date as opposed to the recently confirmed November 24 date. Obviously, this caused a whole lot of rampant speculation; some were concerned that although it was a small delay, it might be a bad indicator, and the US would soon get bad news… But you needn't worry; Sony has confirmed to Kotaku that nothing has changed.
"We've announced the date as the 24th and have not changed that at all."
Doesn't get any simpler than that. You can now put down the torches and pitchforks; we know most of you were preparing a raid on either SCEA or Polyphony…or Kaz Yamauchi's house. Obviously, though, nobody is going to be truly happy (or 100% convinced) until the game is in the PS3.

Yea even the slightest delay even with a date will be chaos! GT5 set to launch November 24th.
By the way, Assassins Creed: Brotherhood review soon?
GOOD! I had heard the rumour, and to be honest nothing would of surprised me.
still, glad its on track (see.. what I did there? see…..)
:-/
hurr hurr :p
weird one, as a comment in the source article says, in europe esp the UK, everything is released on a friday, abit like how everything in america is released on a tuesday, in europe its a friday, films games whatever, always on a friday… except COD Black ops, which they wanted a worldwide launch so picked the american date of a tuesday, but thats the only thing i can think of that didnt come out on a friday, so yeah i wouldnt be surprised if it actually came true and came out on the 26th in europe anyway. For a lot of people friday is pay day, lol
over the years right from PS1 days some AAA games have had different release dates from the Friday in the UK and the Tuesday in the States.
it does depend on how special the game is and what is coming out around it. there is no setting in stone for release dates, its the same for the the PSN.. we take it for granted that new content will come out on Tuesdays for the states and weds for the UK, but it can come out at any point, there are no rules (and I have asked that question on the EU blog).
but I think it works out well for us and the game companies the days we are used to.
personally I like getting new games released on a Friday as it means I have the weekend to enjoy it!
….and with you guys getting the games on Tuesday, it also means that if the title is RUBBISH, we in the UK get a three day heads up! lol.
there's always a silver lining…
lol yes exactly, i did this just the other week, well looking forward to MOH then got the reviews from the states and realised to give it a miss lol.
oh yh i know its not set in stone, just meant i wouldnt be surprised if it was true as things usually come out on a friday.
Hey Cavan, you're in Nottingham arn't you?
I'm gonna be on midnight launch duty in GAME (The one outside broadmarsh), why don't you pop in and pick it up?

People were just suffering from GT5 post traumatic release date syndrome.
"In the end, there will be only CHAOS"..
Must have applied to the release of GT5.
Good.. I'll put down the flamethrower…
Thats good to hear.
At least he HAS an avatar.
At least my username isnt gay… willy
How is this a surprise? Europe almost always gets games a couple of days after America. It happens with most games, so calm down people.
We get it a day later… the 25th… No that that bothers me. It is only a day, so I don't understand why people are getting their panties in a twist. Good to know anyway.
Peace.
Oh good.
I think people forget how hard it is to pull off a simultaneous global launch. Launching within a day or two in every territory is as good as simultaneous for a physical product like a game disc.
For some reason i wanted them to delay it…lol…they do it so much. it's like ill miss that
Only been delayed 1 time. Is that a lot?
nah it was like 3 or 4 times i think dude
know what pisses me off?
the spike VGA awards, GT isnt even nominated for this year
How could it? Game doesn't exist yet.
The nominees are out already?
So does that mean GT5 doesn't have a shot at VGA at all?
2 days isn't enough to raise hell over.
I'm on midnight launch duty at GAME….gonna be hectic.
I like a good direct answer like that. Get those naysayers to shut their yaps.
Well that is a very good thing. I all need to do is just to get that riot shield.
huh?
the EU date for GT5 is the 25th not the 24th.
im pretty sure it will be, EB normally get big releases like this a good week or so early.
they dont have GT5 yet, asked the manager when its coming in he told me they have not been told yet.
cant believe the lack of advertisement for this too!
i mean this is the biggest game to ever hit the ps3 so far, and will probably be the biggest game to EVER hit the ps3!
so wheres the advertisement?
thats what i cant understand about sony, they refuse to advertise there products and instead advertise either crap games, or old games.
lost count the amount of times i have seen fifa 2010 adds, and adds for the unbelievably crap new cricket game.
they could advertise the biggest game to ever hit the ps3, or some crappy cricket game.
so which do they choose?
its almost like they dont want there games selling well!
The last information I could find was that in the UK it was the 24th, but that in France and Denmark it was to be the 26th, not sure why. The article didn't give specifics for other countries across the EU. It made it sound like the release was being staged based on local market needs/requirements.
think its got to do with the people who deliver the games.
most games release here on a thursday, i think one company delivers all the games.
NFS HP and ACB released on thursday, so thats probably why its releasing on thursday instead of a day or 2 earlier otherwise they would have to do 2 shipments.
games normally arrive in store a week prior to release.
You squashed the rumor before I'd even heard it. Darn, I missed my opportunity to get all upset 🙁
