Transformers: War for Cybertron is one of those few games loosely based on a movie series (in this case, very loosely) that is well worth playing.
And if you were a fan of the solid, entertaining production by High Moon Studios, you'll be happy to learn that a sequel is headed your way in 2012. Hasbro confirmed as much during an investor conference , which implies the first title did well enough on the market to warrant War for Cybertron 2 (or whatever the follow-up will be entitled). Said Mark Blecher, senior vice president and general manager of Digital Media & Gaming:
"This is the most highly-rated, critical success of any game that's had the Hasbro brand yet and we're looking forward to a sequel in 2012."
Although it hasn't been confirmed, it is expected that High Moon will return to handle development duties for the sequel. This is good news, too, because along with Kung-Fu Panda , the studio has proven it's plenty capable of delivering solid games based on films. …that's nothing to sneeze at in this industry. We'll let you know when we have more details on the impending sequel.
