Transformers: War for Cybertron is one of those few games loosely based on a movie series (in this case, very loosely) that is well worth playing.
And if you were a fan of the solid, entertaining production by High Moon Studios, you'll be happy to learn that a sequel is headed your way in 2012. Hasbro confirmed as much during an investor conference , which implies the first title did well enough on the market to warrant War for Cybertron 2 (or whatever the follow-up will be entitled). Said Mark Blecher, senior vice president and general manager of Digital Media & Gaming:
"This is the most highly-rated, critical success of any game that's had the Hasbro brand yet and we're looking forward to a sequel in 2012."
Although it hasn't been confirmed, it is expected that High Moon will return to handle development duties for the sequel. This is good news, too, because along with Kung-Fu Panda , the studio has proven it's plenty capable of delivering solid games based on films. …that's nothing to sneeze at in this industry. We'll let you know when we have more details on the impending sequel.

I enjoyed War for Cybertron. It was a solid game, the gameplay was enticing enough, and the characters really shined in the various set pieces. With that said, there are some tweaks I would definitely appreciate. I know Cybertron is supposed to be bleak and barren and falling apart and what have you, but the environments could still use some spice. It might just be me, but the frame rate suffers when I play online, so I'd also appreciate touch-ups in that respect as well. I'll end on a positive note though and say that I loved the characters and their little quips throughout the story, loved the character models and animations as well (transforming was so damn sexy).

Definitely looking forward to a sequel… Probably one of the games I had most fun with this year… Just please do me a favor, and keep the 3 player co op online… Throw in split screen if u need to, but don't take away the co op!
It was a good game, and it was also a good homage to transformer fans ( of the cartoon, not the movies).
We are here. We are waiting.
Cool. The first one was a pretty solid game for the Transformers franchise, and they nailed it by not having the human element in it at all. I hate that aspect of Transformers.
Now they just need to make a G.I. Joe FPS that doesn't suck — 'cause that would be fun — or a MGS/Splinter Cell espionage game centered around Snake-Eyes which would be even more fun.
Aren't the TF and GIJ games published by Activision? They could use the same engine CoD runs on or something.
Where are my He-man games.
Good I really liked the first.
One of the most enjoyable games I have played this year mainly due to the multiplayer which I usually don't play in games, but I had to recommend this one to friends. The campaign was a homage to fans like myself which I enjoyed, but it could be improved . It's no Uncharted 2. It's enjoyable like Black Ops, but doesn't have the quality of ps3 exclusives to back it up.
while it was not exactly this years batman AA, it was certainly a massive surprise!
was expecting it to be tripe, but it was actually quite good, and allot of fun!
SP could use some work. I liked it, but its not Uncharted-engrossing. There could be more interactive fun like fighting on a moving battlefield etc
