We keep hoping Two Worlds II will be eons better than the original, and previous info and footage has been encouraging.
But it actually has to release first. The game has already released in Europe for the Xbox 360 and PC, but where's the PS3 version? Well, it seems the European publisher for the game – TopWare/Zuxxez – is ticked off at Sony; according to Eurogamer , TopWare/Zuxxez CEO Dirk Hassinger said that because of a bunch of "lazy buggers" at Sony, the PS3 version isn't done. And that's the fault of the developer, who Sony – apparently – wasn't on top of. Said Hassinger:
"The PS3 version wasn't delivered on schedule for release. We can choose our pressing plant for PC and 360, but unfortunately not for PS3. I'd preferably post the email and phone number of the lady responsible at Sony here. We're hopping mad!"
He then wondered what the press release might say; perhaps something like, "Sony needs too much time for the production because mainly lazy buggers are working there." And you know, Sony isn't too happy about the outburst because now, the PS3 version might never arrive. Oh, by the way, Eurogamer Germany's review of the PC version has netted a 9/10, so you better hope the PS3 version ends up finding its way to the US…if it ever exists at all.

How is Sony's fault? It's the fault of the lazy developers. I mean, if Sony just busts in there and tells them to get going, it will very likely result in lowered performance, and get blasted for being a lazy port. Unless Sony was helping them to develop it. Eh, you know what, the game sounds interesting, but extremely lacklustre reviews for the original has turned me off. Let those that care fight over it.
Peace.
Well, ideally, it's the job of the developer to finish the game on time, and it's the job of Sony to push the developer if that isn't going to happen. I think that's what the publisher is complaining about; that Sony didn't crack the whip.
That makes sense, but I still fail to see how that is Sony's job. They aren't explicitly a part of the development process, so why should they be the ones to push it? Should that not be down to the publishers, as they are the ones that are getting the game to retailers? I think I'm missing something here.
Peace.
I'm not entirely sure how it works but I think sometimes, it's the job of the console manufacturer to deliver a finished product to the assigned publisher.
That might only be a European thing, though. I'm really not sure.
Oh, okay… that's kind of odd.
Might as well scrap the PS3 version, at this time, there's no point at all.
What do you mean?
Someone calling Sony Europe lazy does not surprise me at all. The SCEE managed PS+ and PSN store service are the worst managed in any of the regions. Topped up with being shafted with the big AAA collectors editions like LBP2 but getting mediocre ones like WWE. SCEE tend to be out of touch with there customers so it wouldnt surprise me if they were out of touch with there partners. i've lost count of the many interviews with games being developed by independants and published by SCEE on the store who have complained at the rather rubbish unessecary long process SCEE implement for their Q&A, The only response SCEE give is " we serve 22 regions and 8 languages". is the usual excuse. ask them why the dont hire more staff and the question goes unanswered.
I'd say the Signature Edition of GT5 beats out what the Americans have got going.
On the other hand, I do kind of agree with you. They just have SCELondon churning out endless SingStar's and put development of Eight Days and The Getaway 3 on hold for no apparent good reason. But SCEAustralia isn't a whole lot better. It should not take four telephone calls and ten weeks to get a YLOD'd PS3 returned to the owner.
Peace.
at least you get playtv lol
@dante. i think more appreciation for scee should be in order. first, they can only do what the hq allows. yeah the different regions are run eparately,, but the hq controls them all. second, i know a lot about dealing with american government red tape, so i would imagine scee has 22 times the frustration. depending on the game, scea may have to work through fragmented state laws in order to peddle their wares. and that's no picnic either. it's not as simple as changing the language to fit the country.
I see, so Mr. Dirk Hassinger being a classless dolt has nothing to do with it at all? I mean, with his class and communication skills it's no wonder that Sony seems less than responsive to him.
Welll uhm…. i never heard of this game till now sooo………. It's probably gonna sell like Alan Wake if they don't sell it on the 3 major platforms.. (PC XBOX PS3) …….. Major flop.
Oh wait not even a flop cause i dont know if alot of people even know this game ….. lol
this game will do Enslaved sales. 160k tops
Well, remedy shouldn't have scrapped the PS3/PC versions.
On topic, I doubt it will sell that much but I also doubt if many sales are needed to cover the development cost.
I think this means that they missed the deadline and then couldn't get the PS3 discs printed in time for release. It says they can choose who prints the discs for xbox and pc, but not PS3. So now it's getting the discs printed that is problem. Sony's problem allegedly.
if im not mistaken the game discs are stamped by sony atleast thats what i read somewhere
just goes to show how unorganized sony really are!
oh come on guys you are making this too easy, i always said yous were as organized as a bunch of drunk teenage blonds but you did not have to prove it to me!
of course it will release though, they did not go and make a whole game than cancel it at the last minute because of manufacturing delays.
Ahhhh no! Somebody get this game finished on te PS3' behalf! Iv been looking forward to this game for a long time!
the first two worlds was so repulsive, i could care less if they ever come out with a another game EVER.
So true. The first one was terrible. I'm definitely waiting for reviews and such before I even think about the second one.
So they missed the scheduled production date at the Blu ray factory, and now it's the Blu ray factory's fault for not reshuffling everything and delaying the manufacture of other products to fit them in?
Meh. Whatever. They sound like a bunch of whiny children.
wasn't the first one just a broken ugly glitchy version of Oblivion? and if that is the case why would we want the second one that much.
Regardless of how "hopping mad" you are at a company for not producing on their part, professionalism goes a long way, it gets you more respect and overall better results. The masses will not understand the rants of those who speak out of anger especially since the masses have no idea as to how said process/agreement work.
Even if Mr. Dirk Hassinger is unpleased with how things have operated, company bashing on this level never yields the results an angry mind thinks it should have.
In this generation I have only seen quality come from Sony, regardless of what region the game was created. If a game such as this is rewarded a 9/10 on PC you better believe it has to get the same thing on PS3 otherwise all your "hopping mad" ranting is gonna get you nowhere.
I wonder if Mr. Dirk Hassinger can handle the backlash of PS3 owners if his game has glitches and gets bad reviews due to said glitches?
Anyway, I work in a professional environment. My clients sometimes piss the hell out of me with their inconsistencies and lack of communication. I simply stay calm and gather all communication I have had with them, mainly email (it's easier to prove), and state my unpleasantries to them and them alone. No one would dare work with me if I made my opinions public in the manner Mr. Dirk Hassinger has, even if I'm the one in the right.
That's my rant on this subject.
Mr Dirk is a di_ _! I couldn't help saying this one!
