Mikami Sticks With DMD Despite Being ZeniMax Property

Sometimes, corporate shuffling can cause big changes in development plans. But you don't have to worry about that when it comes to Grasshopper Manufacture and Shinji Mikami.

If you didn't know, Mikami's Tango Gamework was recently purchased by ZeniMax, the parent company of Bethesda. So essentially, the Vanquish director is now part of id Software and Bethesda's stable of talented designers but the question was, would he and No More Heroes developer Suda51 continue work on Shadows of the Damned ? The game was unveiled at this year's Tokyo Game Show and it certainly appears promising . The good news is that Mikami won't have to leave the latter project; a statement issued by ZeniMax reads:

"Shinji will serve as creative lead on the games developed at Tango Gamework and will fulfill his remaining obligations to Grasshopper pursuant to their prior agreement."

Excellent. We actually received a Happy Halloween card in the mail recently, telling us that Shadows of the Damned will be ready to go "summer 2011;" it also gave some background. Garcia Hotspur is a demon hunter who is out to save his true love during an adventure dubbed as a "psychological action thriller." Oh, by the way, I forgot we're supposed to only call the game "Damned" or "DMD" now, by order of Suda51. Why? …we really don't know.

Always wanted to do that Lol
But yeah, gaming industry is getting frightening smaller. More & more gaming developers getting eaten up. I predict Microsoft buying Take2

Ok. It's called Damned. Got it.

If they lose the "Shadow", do you think they'll try to catch it and reattach it with some soap?

Wonder what Soda is up to? Damned okay, but it's not as catchy. DMD, what's that stand for?

Anyway, despite the bad Mexican caricature this game looks pretty sweet from the tiny trailer we've seen (cept for those kinda poor graphics but they aren't everything). I was under the impression Mikami worked for Platinum.

they can call it telletubbies for all i care, as long as those 2 masterminds are working on it, and the gameplay is like what we saw in the video I CANT FREAKING WAIT!!!!!!!!!!!!
so,SO,SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO good to have a physiological thriller game!
i thought alan wake would have to do me for the rest of this generation!
maybe, just maybe we can see the return of the genre and stop every "horror" game turning into torture porn?
