Free Red Dead DLC: Two New Outfits And A Jackalope

If you're still playing Red Dead Redemption , we don't blame you at all. It's one of the year's best and Rockstar continues to support it on a frequent basis.

They've already released several downloadable content packs and more are on the way but in the meantime, the developer wishes to reward us with a little gift. The new Hunting and Trading Outfits Pack will release on Tuesday, October 12 on both the PlayStation Network and Xbox Live Marketplace…and it'll be free . This pack features two new outfits and the challenges that go along with them: there's The Savvy Merchant, which has access to valuable firepower; if you equip this outfit, you can buy guns and ammo at any gunsmith for half the cost. Then there's The Expert Hunter, who is so damn handy with a gun, he'll come back from the hunt with double the amount of skins and hides. Oh, but wait, there's one other thing…it's quick, it's elusive, it's barely more than a myth…but it's there. It's…the Jackalope. Think you can bag it? By the way, this free pack will include a compatibility update that lets players who don't have the last two packs (Liars and Cheats and Legends and Killers) see players who do , playing as characters from Red Dead Revolver or the Red Dead Redemption single-player story.

Of course, you can only see those players; you still have to ante up and purchase those packs if you wish to participate in the expanded fun. So, who's still gun-slingin' in the Wild West?

Nice they are throwing some free bones out. Though, the multiplayer on this game failed to pull me in. Haven't played this in a few months.

Far and away the best game of the year is being supported by both free and paid dlc. Rockstar is on FIRE this gen.

I've been playing this multiplayer religiously.

I'm few levels from capping now.

I want even more multiplayer updates!

I'll still playin because I never finished it and moved on, but I'm trying to get back to it now and then so I'll be getting this for sure.

Has anybody else who got the Golden Guns as a preorder bonus noticed that since they started selling them, your guns aren't always golden anymore?

Your bonus golden guns only show up in game if you're connected to PSN.

It's weird. Sometimes they show up and sometimes they don't. Try loading your DLC from the games menu.

The jackalope is seriously one of the best DLC items I've ever heard about. Speaking of great DLC, I can't wait for Undead Nightmare.

the competitive multiplayer isnt the best part of MP… its the free roam. its about getting buddies together and having a good time in the Wild West.
now just get the Undead Nightmare pack in on time… and i will be complete.

Can they release some single player DLC because I don't play the MP at all. Found it kind of dry, but that's my preference. Why is Rockstar only catering to the MP crowd?…oh yeah, cause that's what next gen gaming is all about right. Come on Rockstar, give me some more story oriented gameplay. I will definitely download this though.

That is what booze925 was eluding to with the Undead Nightmare expansion pack coming October 26th. It adds a whole new single player storyline (in addition to more multiplayer stuff). Sounds like it'll be $10/£8.

Nooooo, you can't put the words "FREE" and "Antivision" in the same sentence.

You'll cause a nuclear implosion inside Boobie Kotex's head.

Oh wait a minute, on second thought, you go right ahead & say it again, and again and again….
….because seeing Kotex's ego rapidly shrinkwrap itself could be the greatest thing on planet Earth for all gamers.

still yet to finish this, i think im really close to the end but have not had a chance to go back to it.
shame too i was really enjoying it, certainly suffered from the typical R* repetitiveness but besides that it was really good.
may be boring as bat sh*t, 99% of the missions conceive of traveling which to be honest is not really exciting.
besides that, ignoring the boring repetitive gameplay, besides that it was a really impressively well made game!

I love this game. Cougars are a b*tch though! LOL. Can anyone tell me why I don't see new weapons at the gunsmith anymore though. Been dying to get the sniper rifle and I have over $3,000 saved up. Is it because I never bothered to get more outfits? Outfits don't interest me but if new weapons show up for purchase then I'll get them.

Single player campaign was great. Multiplayer mode on the other hand, felt like a desert to me (my session only showed 2 more players at most).

I platted this up a while back. Easily my GOTY so far. Can't wait to see the next GTA with some of the innovations from RDR implemented.

Love this game and the expansions so far have kept multiplayer fun. Like booze925 said, it's not so much the competitive part but the free roam that's a blast with friends. I think the co-op missions are done well too, the advanced are nearly impossible when played with only 2 people. I know some people found either the sp or mp boring with this one but it is one of those titles for me that I continue to play both modes very often.
