The original wasn't very good but the developers have long since acknowledged that, and many are anticipating their upcoming sequel, which most are expecting to be a vast improvement.

Unfortunately, we'll have to wait a bit longer before we can determine if our enthusiasm and positive attitude will be rewarded. SouthPeak Games has announced that developer Reality Pump needs a bit more time to deliver "a benchmark RPG experience," which means Two Worlds II now has a January release window for North America. It was initially expected to launch next month but it's clear that the publisher doesn't want to release a lesser product. Here's part of SouthPeak's official statement:

"…there's a reason for everything and although we feel that the game is truly at a 'AAA' level, that reason is that we want Two Worlds II to be absolutely flawless when it launches in the North American market. Although we could bring the game to market earlier in order to take advantage of the holiday buying season, we felt that we would do a better service to you by making sure that the game you want is absolutely as it should be."

It's also interesting to note that the press release went on to talk a bit about those who will "torrent or import the game because they simply cannot wait." They ask you remember that piracy hurts "those who worked hard to make the game for you, reducing the chance of another game in the future." Well, no matter what sort of spin or rationale you choose to utilize, theft is theft. That's something we at PSXE will always believe. Anyway, we appreciate the update and the apparent dedication to quality; here's hoping Two Worlds II comes through in fine fashion.
