It was busy as usual, but for the PSXE crowd, none of the new game announcements were as exciting as the confirmation of a certain remake collection.
Although the new Devil May Cry turned some heads, the majority of recent poll participants voted for a couple PS2 classics set to be remade for the PS3 with HD and 3D: ICO & Shadow of the Colossus Collection . Perhaps this is because we didn't see much that blew us away at the Tokyo Game Show last week, or maybe it's because the two games in question are icons of the PlayStation brand…or maybe it's a bit of both. Fumito Ueda and Team ICO did indeed create two titles that have been loved and revered since they first released way back when, and are currently considered to be great examples of "interactive art." The second-most number of votes went to nothing; i.e., none of the new TGS announcements really did it for them, and only a few liked the look of Capcom's over-the-top action/brawler, Asura's Wrath . We at PSXE are excited about the new DMC and Shadows of the Damned , by Shinji Mikami and Suda 51, also looks like a lot of fun.
This week, the holidays aren't far off and we want to know- how many new games do you plan to buy (or receive as gifts) before the year is out? In other words, how many fresh additions will be in your library before December 31, 2010? You might want to check the huge number of potentially great releases before voting…
Lots of cool stuff at TGS this year but Team ICO stole the show. ICO/SotC Collection is easily one of my most anticipated games of 2011. Can't wait to roam the plains with Wander in HD.
Yeah, though I haven't played SoTC, hear its legendary.
This batch also lacks RPG… What a downer

Just wait for Ni No Kuni. It looks fantastic.
Oh thanks I'll do that
Say, any news on WKC?
@Jawknee
Yeah ive been watching that title, looks like its gonna be awesome but my guess is we won't be seeing it till late 2011 or early 2012.
You mean WKC2? haven't heard much. I haven't even finished the first one. Ha
It should have been GT5 and LBP2 but now that the latter has been delayed, I'll be waiting to see if there's anything else I'm interested.
I got hyped by Enslaved but the demo was only decent, control was what I expected but there's a bit of camera issue so I'll wait and see.
Well if this holiday season means october to december than im probably going to get near 10 games. Just way too many grade a material comin out to pass up
I'm looking to buy Gran Turismo 5 and Sly Cooper Collection on the PS3 and Fallout: New Vegas on the 360 for sure. Those are the definite Day One buys. However, games like Enslaved, Vanquish, Castlevania: Lords Of Shadows, Medal Of Honor, NBA2K11/NBA Elite '11 and maybe a PS Move game will also be bought pending reviews. I think the chances are good I will buy Enslaved and Castlevania on Day One simply because I need something new to play on the PS3. All I have left are God Of War 3 (only one more chapter to go), SSFIV and Sports Champions
What I WON'T buy: Kinect, Fable III (since I haven't even played Fable II), the new Assassin's Creed game, any music games and anything from Activision.

So getting the Sly Collection.
My avatar is kinda like yours now haha. Now that I copied it either, just coincidence.
Scarecrow, your avatar looks like a scareapercrow.
After playing both NBA demos, it's clear for me: ELITE! NBA2K11 is the same old, Elite is fresh and fun.
I loved the Enslaved demo (just played it now)! Going to buy it for sure on October 5.

Wow, i never knew they were releasing a sly cooper collection! I'll definetely be getting it sometime.
Would have voted for Project Dark if it was an option.
'Bout the number of games? I just get the best ones. Can't really pin down a number since I've got a great backlog of games I've still to get.
GT5 is a day one buy though, there's no or Ifs on that.
Yup, i would of voted that.
Can't believe that wasn't reported here. One of the major announcements that.
I voted for ICO and SotC.
On this new poll, I voted 5 to 9. I just pre-ordered Castlevania:LOS. I was trying to decide between Castlevania and Enslaved, but Kojima's involvement swayed my decision.

That's because the crowd here knows a legendary PS2 game when they see it. SotC Collection is a gift to fans. A day one buy for anyone who got either game during it's initial release and had their jaw hit the ground at the sight of each colossi. Bravo Ueda, bravo.
As for the games coming out… I don't even think twice when it comes to any Bethesda rpg so New Vegas will be mine. I'm guessing I'll nab Black Ops as well, but only if Amazon brings back their $20 credit with purchase.
Well, we certainly got excited about DMC, but not in a good way at all, anywayz, the top thing at TGS was definitely Team Ico's showing. I really wish I could have seen more of SE's FFvXIII but ah well…soon…soon
As for the poll more than likely between 5-10…because obviously I have to get the best ones, but then there are some smaller games that appeal to me highly that I just can't miss out on =)
There is only 1 game coming out for the rest of the year, and that's Gran Turismo 5. I won't be in the market for anything for quite some time after that launches in November.
As for TGS, I was pretty impressed by the new info we heard regarding GT5. Don't care if it was announced at E3, that wasn't even remotely what you'd call a serious launch announcement.
Just 1 or 2.
Naruto Ultimate Ninja Storm 2 and any other game i find cheap in boxing day. I'll definitely get lbp2 collectors edition, man it really sucks that it got delayed…
Never played Ico or Shadow of the Colossus, but I always thought they had a cool design & I heard they were pretty good games too, maybe I'll pick up these new remakes.
I'm one of them who picked ICO/SotC Collection. Regarding the new poll, right now I've only pre-ordered Fallout:New Vegas and God of War:Ghost of Sparta. There are few other games I might get as well, try to save some money…
its because we know so little about TLG, which im really starting to get worried about.
like i said yesterday the games been in development for over 3 years so you would think they would be showing quite a fair bit off.
since there not that leads me to believe there not that far in it, when you spend 3 years on a game and not have much to show off, well if that does not sign off alarm bells nothing will!
Was there any possible competition to the Team ICO bundle? DmC would have been next, but the apparent mutilation of the series made me second guess that.
What I'm getting: GT5SigEd, ordered on the weekend; Enslaved; Medal of Honour, likely, but not confirmed for me yet; and I think that's all. Maybe Assassin's Creed 2 if I can find a Platinum version. There is also Castlevania and Vanquish, but I want to see the review scores of them first. Oh, and the Sly Collection. I think I'm still forgetting something. Eh, I'll put down 5-9.
Peace.
I'll be getting Enslaved, Lords of Shadow, Ultimate Ninja Storm 2, Ghost of Sparta and AC: Brotherhood.
I may also get The Sly Collection and The Force Unleashed 2. Also, I'll eventually get Move before Christmas, along with some games that support it.
Other than that, nothing really interests me for now.

I picked 10 or more i am gonna go crazy heck i just picked up 4 new the other day.
Between the PS3 and PC, I could approach the 20 game mark this winter. That's all depending on how work goes due to budgets being cut 🙁
I was actually really underwhelmed by TGS as a whole. Certainly, I think it's the "bit of both" suggestion Ben made in the article. The ICO classics have me interested, for sure, but it's a shame that the "Best in Show" is the announcement of something that's already been done.
Don't get me wrong, it's freakin' sweet they're doing that! But, still, you'd like to hear more about PS3 originality, imo.
I was really disappointed nothing came up about Resistance 3 at TGS. I sure hope they get it in by the end of the year.
I was a bit underwhelmed by TGS this year, but that might be because I didn't follow it very closely and nothing really leaped from the page in the coverage I did read.
Asura's Wraith looked really bad-ass, it looks like it's going 2 be crazy fun.
Team Ico Collection was the most impressive with The Last Guardian and Asura's Wrath coming in close second.
Well I preordered the GT5 Collector's edition way back in July with release date shipping($0.99). I also might get MOH but since it's release is so close to GT5 I might get a Racing wheel instead, But what I think I'm going to do is Get MOH, play it up until GT5 shows up at my front door on Nov 2. and Ask for a logitech steering wheel for Christmas or get a steering wheel and ask for MOH. either way. GT5 and MOH are the only games I plan on getting till the year is out so far.
GT5 Countdown: 35 days
Project Dark and Disgaea 4 ruled!
Regarding TGS…what Highlander said.
Regarding the new poll…I chose 5-9, which is low for me. Normally, I get the majority of my games this time of year, because my birthday falls in October. Last year, I think I got over 15, not including PSN games.
My backlog is so big, though, that I'm imposing a self-embargo until I finish some of them, so no games for my birthday this year (though I will be getting RB3 the next week).
Probables for the holidays: RB3, Heavy Rain, R&C: ACIT, AC2, DA:O GOTY. That is, if I finish some games between now and then.
Aside from RB3 (by FAR my most anticipated game), I don't see any new games this holidays that scream "buy me now", so I'll be getting them some time next year.

Looks like NBA Elite '11 has been delayed. Not good. It might not come out for some time. I didn't like NBA2K11 so it looks like no basketball for me for now.
simply put:
my biggest excitement for the later half of 2010 is Castlevania Lord of Shadow, and my biggest excitement for 2011 is the ICO HD collection and the tentative Last Guardian
