So you've pre-ordered the PlayStation 3 version of Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood from GameStop and snagged your multiplayer beta code.
But you've probably noticed by now that trying to use that code doesn't work just yet. Would-be testers were told the beta would kick off this week but unfortunately, Ubisoft isn't quite ready to get things started. The beta launch has been delayed in all territories until October 4. Once we can finally get going, qualifying participants will jump into "an assassination-themed online testing arena," which will represent the general public's first look at the new online multiplayer aspect. It's the first time the series has featured multiplayer of any kind, so fans are interested to see how Ubisoft will approach such an element. Four our part, we want to try it as well, but we're hoping the single-player campaign remains just as lengthy and robust as ever. The team has said this will indeed be the case so perhaps there's no need to worry… We do have plenty of faith in these developers.
Anyway, Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood arrives for the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and Wii on November 16. It'll have to do battle with Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit , which releases on the same day, and Call of Duty: Black Ops , which hits the week before.
take ALLL the time u want ubisoft. i ain't buying another assassins creed. rental maybe.
What's wrong with Assassin's Creed?
It's one of the gen's best.
i think its one of the generations most overrated.
well, assassins creed 2 anyway
It's your opinion, not gonna argue.
PEACE!

I'll be skipping out on Black Ops and waiting a week for Assassin's Creed, for sure.
After platinum'ing MW2 and AC2, I have to say, AC wins my vote by a landslide.

When it comes to Assassin's Creed, I'm much more interested in the campaign than any form of multiplayer. I like my mp games in first person. Third person online often leads to frustration over the camera.
I played UC2's MP for a week and gave up for the same reason you've mentioned.
have to agree guys i just prefer the campaign for uncharted and ac….did still enjoy the mp on uc2 for a while tho
If it's coming to Wii as well you KNOW it's gonna be a quality title!
yeah…
no other system surpasses wii graphics and quality.
Hell I haven't even received a code back yet. I preordered it and the code Gamestop gives you is for the AC website where you register and then they send you a code. If I don't get it then oh well. I wasn't planning on buying this until it was cheaper anyways.
Guys this news was announced days ago… bit behind the times XD
I didnt know anyone had recieved their beta codes yet?
I recieved a slip with a code on it, THAT code is used to redeem my beta code from Ubisoft, but they havnt sent it out yet.
There were a bunch of details released about the beta too.
There are only 2 modes playable, Wanted and Alliance.
Wanted is a scored mode in which players try to be the first to reach a set number of assassinations.
Alliance is a cooperative mode that matches players to fulfill killing contracts.
The two maps available are Rome and Castel Gandolfo.
There are 9 playable characters.
this site is usually a little late to the party when it comes 2 news.
u learn 2 accept it
First I've heard of it.
Didn't AC2 go up against MW2 last year, and sell very well despite the similar release date? This ought to do pretty well too.
If you think you'll like a game enough, go ahead and pre-order it. But getting in on a crummy beta shouldn't be the selling point.
Not the selling point…. but the pre-ordering point XD
meh, as you all know im a massive AC fan but ill be skipping this one.
im sick of ubisofts attitude to the PC!
thats fine ubisoft, you want to treat your loyal fans like that than a massive royal f*ck you to you too!
i understand ur point but if you were planning on getting this on console, don't you think you should check it out since you enjoyed AC2 a lot?
no i wanted to get it for PC.
if this is how ubisoft want to treat their fans, than thats fine there going to start loosing allot of money if they keep going the way they are!
look at the backlash IW copped for MW2, only a matter of time till ubisoft find themselves in the eye of the storm.
uh… what kind of fate did MW2 uh…. suffer for again?
Actually, I'd be interested to see the sales difference between consoles.
the only reason anyone would prefer a game for pc is so they can pirate it.
^
…or for better graphics, bug free gameplay, better controls, bigger online community.
ya…and to pirate it.
There could be a good reason why the PC release always gets delayed you know, doesnt it seem a bit strange this is the 3rd time they have done it?
I say, Piracy.
PC games are pirated, nearly instantly. It would be a good idea to let the game sell on consoles for a few months, THEN release it for PC, after the initial hype has died down.

yea PC are the only games that get pirated.
are we forgetting most 360 games hit P2P sites weeks, if not MONTHS before release?
are we forgetting PS jailbreak, PS break, Psgroove and so many others?
dont act like PC are the only games that get pirated, consoles and handhelds have just as many piracy issues as the PC.
When's the last time you saw a pirated PS3 game?
I know I saw a pirated version of a PC game at the second-hand store this morning.
last time i saw a pirated ps3 game?
easy, i saw dead rising 2 had leaked to P2P sites this morning, even though its not out for another 10 days.
Dude, piracy is nowhere near as bad on consoles as it is on PC. PC makes it more accessible, just by being a PC!
I also think overall sales are a pretty big indicator of that fact.
@Anonymous Cowpatty
I don't think IW got backlash for MW2. More like IW was betrayed -BY- the PC fans. I just checked out an old article from Kotaku from a month after MW2's release.
While PS3 and XBOX360 had sales in the millions, the PC version of the game had only sold 170k copies at that point. With PC sales numbers so crappy, and the fact that the console MW2 sales are insanely high, I doubt IW feels shafted. If anything, they'll be motivated not to release for PC.
Similarly, sales on consoles far outweighed the sales on PC for Assassin's Creed 1 and 2 both. Hardly a ballsy move on Ubisoft's part.
thats because most PC gamers act like women.
"Hell havth no fury, like a woman scorn."
no backlash?
what about the signed petition fans started up to get dedicated servers back and swore not to buy the game till they did?
You mean the petition that allows people to sign as many times as they want? Yeah… that's reliable. Even still, lets assume that all 250k people were all individuals… it would STILL put PC sales WELL under 1 million.
I doubt Activision is concerned at all with CoD on PC anymore. That's not a very big backlash. Besides, I'm willing to bet a good number of those petitioners signed but still own the game.
I'm going to have to agree "Somewhat" with Booze. Assassins Creed 2 was good but not great. I have a hard time playing sandbox games because they just become extremely repetitive. Red Dead and inFamous being the exceptions. I really had a hard time with the cutscenes as well. I thought they were absolutely horrible. Some of the worst i've seen this generation. Characters faces and expressions were basically non existent. The game was ok as a whole but it just didn't wow me. Not like Red Dead did. Just another average game for me from Ubisoft.
Anyone is welcome to their opinion on games, but if AC2 is average, then I'm a big fan of an average game. And MW2 fans are fans of below-average mediocrity.
