Let's make this clear right off the bat- beta testing for LittleBigPlanet 2 starts this week in Europe, and next week – September 14 – in North America. However, bear in mind that if Media Molecule notes any significant issues this week, they may delay the launch of the beta in this country.
That being said, if you intend to help the team out by testing, it would help if you knew what type of feedback they're looking for. Well, visit Play-Mag for the full rundown; Media Molecule will want to examine a number of major structural and mechanical factors. They want you to test out the addition of AI chip programming and music composition (there's more to create than just levels!), the new content search mechanism, and whether or not the badge reward system is operating correctly. As for the latter, you'll receive special badges for being a creator, player, reviewer, or even a composer, and remember, they say your reviewing of other people's products is crucial to the community. Lastly, they'll want to know if you're having any trouble utilizing the vast amount of tools at your disposal; are they easy to understand and intuitive? Or does all that need to be more streamlined? The whole point of a beta test is to provide developers with meaningful, ultimately helpful feedback, so it's impossible to over-suggest or over-criticize.
Right now, this is an invite-only beta that is only open to avid fans of the original title (those who spent a lot of time in LittleBigPlanet get preferential treatment), community members, and regular members of MM's beta testing community.

This is exactly why I was 100% for them choosing those extremely dedicated to LBP for this beta. MM is really working hard to make this one of the best games of the generation and I'm sure it will pay off.
Good luck and have fun to all testers out there!
what a clever and exciting comment!
(>.<)
My irony meter just exploded.
Go sell crazy some place else chubbs, we're all stocked up here.
Considering you basically never post an interesting comment, I would step out of the glass house.
Cool, wish they invited me though 🙁
Hopefully those who are in will help MM with testing the mechanics of the game.
I was just wondering how to snag a beta invite…
@Scarecrow
My thought is if anyone would be totally willing it would be them judging by the way MM chose them. Not saying someone who doesn't have as much time to play would have been right for the job either but I'm assuming those selected have a true passion for the game and thus would really provide some excellent feedback.
I would have loved to get in the beta but I would have definitely not been a wise selection for MM as I would only be interested in playing and not so much critiquing. So basically I'm kinda glad I wasn't picked
Didn't these guys say LBP2 would not/should not/need not be made?
Or was that just some loose cannon from MM that said that?
Regardless, I'm glad good gaming continues.
Look up the other articles that Ben has posted here for a full scoop on that development. 😉
so glad to be a sony beta tester 😀
Seriously WTF HELLO SONY??? Im a PS+ MEMBER!!! Hi? *Knock* *Knock* *Knock*
Don't mean nothin.
no one promised u the beta ?!
so when do "we" plus subscribers get into some type of beta?
…beginning to think that was a "marketing mis-speak"…
i have the 3 month plan, so if i'm not accepted into the KZ3 beta i won't be renewing my subscription.
Lol, just think, the 4th month, after you're is expired, everyone with a current psn+ gets K3 beta, haha.
rubbing salt in the wound i see lol
Come on now people, beta's aren't demos, yet most people want to think they are, it's not meant for your pure enjoyment, it's meant for testing to make things great for everyone. And being a PS+ member isn't just for supposedly getting demo's, I'm a PS+ Member, and I'm totally satisfied, whether I get into a beta or not, with all the free DLC, mini's and discounts I've received, it's easily paid for itself months ago.
Yes….but…they did say that Plus membership could include beta tests.
but no 1 sed u would get this beta test so y complain……open betas you probably will get
Yes but could isn't for sure, an then also it could be some random beta at some point, who really knows.
I want to be in the beta as well. I love testing games before they come out and finding bugs… It makes a unique experience.
speaking of betas, wheres that beta access + subscribers were promised?
im really starting to regret spending that 70 bucks!
