If there's one thing the Call of Duty franchise thrives on, it's multiplayer.
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 is arguably the most popular multiplayer game in history and there's no doubt that millions will also sample the upcoming Black Ops online. As Treyarch is at the helm for this one, and the single-player campaign for Call of Duty: World at War was appropriately lengthy, we're hoping Black Ops will also be able to deliver on both fronts. But for now, the focus remains squarely on the multiplayer, 'cuz an all-new look at the gameplay has arrived.
Looks pretty good, doesn't it? This year, it'll be tough to beat Battlefield: Bad Company 2 in the multiplayer category, and Medal of Honor looks to be a winner, too. But if there's one title that should deliver the online goods in spades, it's right here. We're wondering what percentage of new Black Ops owners will actually play the campaign before jumping online…

Way too much crap in your face the whole time.
Really?
I agree World.
fool!!
Hey, Squall's back!
admittidly it looks like mw2 but in a different style….but dont all sequels just add new stuff
Keep voting me down. My comment still stands!!
Same ol', Same ol'. Im not Impressed and I'm not buying it.
so you get to play as either the commies or the rebel alliance?
That was my first thought.
lol
This footage looks very similar to the other Call of Duty titles, except for the remote controlled car… I bet that thing will be as annoying as having to take a crap during an MRI.
yeah whats the deal with the RC car?
I know they use the RC cars in Afghanistan and Iraq to look for and detonate roadside bombs and other traps they might be worried about. Not sure if they used them in Vietnam though.
not only looking for bombs, they have now developed a remote control robot that can fire any weapon a human can!
comes with 4 cameras built in, hooked via optics.
not bad, not bad at all and its actually easier to use than a normal gun because the robot controls the backfire so you get less recoil.
this things suppose to be more accurate on full auto, than a fully trained soldier!
impressive!
Well, it definitely looks familiar. I guess Treyarch knows how to follow a recipe.
^^^win.
I still think this multiplayer could be replicated on the original modern warfare with just a patch. Correct me if i'm wrong but new interface, maps, weapons and kill streaks could just be transfered digitally correct? It's the same bloody game imo.
Thats not even your opinion. it's a fact.
Its a fact but it also isnt a bad thing."If something isnt broken……..dont try to fix it!!"
@ snypa_69
have you played MW2? that's beyond broken.
Yeah i have played MW2. Am still playing it now. Can you please explain your "beyond broken" statement?
BTW who keeps voting me down? Is there some FPS vs RPG thing on this site?

Still looks like MW2 to me. Let me guess; they are still using MW's engine. I still haven't found a legitimate reason to spend 60 bucks on this. I am not impressed; maybe because I am looking for an entirely different gameplay. However, I know I won't find much innovativeness in COD anymore.
What these developers need to understand is that once a series is being milked, gameplay then needs to be more innovative and flexible because it gets old pretty fast. They are still using the same formula that they used for COD4, WAW, and MW2. I as a consumer would rather spend my money on something more interesting like Infamous 2 or LBP2. Personally, I don't think the developers care because, at the end of the day, millions of people will still buy their product. I loved COD4 because it did something innovative. It brought in a newer and better interface than its predecessors. It also redefined online play. So far, in my opinion, MW2 hasn't done that; WAW hasn't done that; and this doesn't appear to be doing that.
Activision won't be getting my money this holiday; not because I dislike the way they conduct their businesses, but because their games are becoming like the Madden series to me- same formula for every game, little addendums to new games, and a lot of hype. When they do something like COD4 again, then I will be interested in buying their games.

They are still using the same formula from the first CoD!! Not a bad thing tho!!
how is it not a bad thing? your paying for the same game every year with a different coat of paint?
Seriously Snypa, you may as well continue playing MW2 and save your money. Your hardly getting a different or new game.
THe formula is the same the game is different. If i Keep playing MW2 then the storyline would get a little boring dont you think?
Also I like new maps for multi player. When you find a sweet sniping spot its really rewarding. You also got new killstreaks and guns to try out. Perks will be different so you can try different setups!!
All in all there will be enough differences to warrant a purchase.
What is this? Thumb snypa down day? Double points on a wednesday?? Just cos u lot dont like CoD u thumb me down. U only get pwnd cos you dont practise enough!!
well, they just convinced e to get! good marketing…
I'd have to disagree, I'm pretty sure Counter-Strike would probably be the most popular FPS multiplayer game ever. But I dunno, I've bought every COD, sold some back kept some, it's generally a hit or miss with me depending on the feel, and the only reason I'd buy this game is for the single-player short campaign, I want to try out some vietnam warfare
Counterstrike? Not according to the numbers.
Remember, the industry on the whole is a LOT bigger than the time when Counterstrike was huge. Things go quickly.
I doubt it will be short. Treyarch isn't IW. The campaign in [email protected] was pretty lengthy. On veteran I think it took me upwards towards 10-12 hours, i dont remember. Yeah its not real long but for an FPS thats pretty good!
yeah, I haven't really checked the numbers lately, or really done too much looking into it's just that I seem to hear more about Counter-strike then people playing MW2, I dunno, maybe it's an attachment rate of CS is higher, becuz MW2 gets old quick, and as long as someone plays it one time, it counts a +1 i'm guessing
Commie Zombies?
game looks like sh1t!
Yeah the graphics are pretty poor hey? *sarcasm*
hmmm more thumbs down. Some people really dont like me do they??
How can you warrant a thumb down for me disagreeing with someone. Its obvious the graphics look good. Open your eyes!!
I guess Im the only 1 who tough this trailer looks awesome…Yes Im aware this is bascialy same cod online diffrent font…but its looks kool 2 me…Plus theres a beta 🙂
Nope loved it!
yeh i thought it looked good does look alot like mw2 tho
No way dude!!!! I thought it looked awesome too 🙂
Thumbed down for liking a game?? Really??
What is wrong with you people?
So it's Modern Warfare 2… in Vietnam… Isn't that exactly what BFBC2 is doing but not sayings it's a new game?
That game really looks good! I can't wait! I personally didn't care for BF2, its good but not the best. Im really looking forward to getting my hands on MOH as well, the beta is great!
But I will definitely be checking out the campaign in both first. But I always played MOH for the campaign and COD for the MP. Except [email protected] that campaign was awesome!
Looks like MW2 but a bit better.
which isnt saying much
lets be honest here, if you were to show this same footage without any announcements about it being black ops, most if not all would think it was a previous entry into the series, particularly mw2 or some new expansion for mw2.
or if no body knew about the whole explosion with infinity ward and activision and nobody knew that respawn actually is infinity ward and they release a game i bet it will do crap.
You know I honestly thought this could pass as an expansion pack to modern warfare 2's multiplayer, I thought treyarch did great with WAW's online but now I'm noticing that they are just putting their name Infinity Wards work.
Same ol' same ol'. I still play MW2 online cuz my roomates all have it. It's a pretty addictive experience. Addictive enough to purchase a slightly superior rehash, I think not!
At least now we know who does most of the work and who copy's and paste when it comes to Infinity Ward and Treyarch.
A couple years ago Infinity Ward had said they more or less resent Treyarch for copying them and using their tech. It's understandable after seeing the trailer above.
