THQ has made it clear that they will only collaborate with top talent in the near future. Well, movie director Guillermo del Toro certainly qualifies.
It was first reported by MTV News that the "Pan's Labyrinth" director was teaming up with a "big video game company" to work on multiple projects. Now, the Los Angeles Times says the game company in question is THQ. The announcement should come in a few weeks time; the games del Toro are apparently working on are "technically and narratively very interesting" (as one might expect). For the record, THQ has yet to reveal anything on the issue but del Toro's involvement in this industry isn't exactly revolutionary. Film legend Steven Spielberg already worked with EA to deliver the colorful Wii puzzle games, Boom Blox and Bash Party . In all honesty, we're hoping del Toro is a bit more ambitious in regards to taking advantage of all the technology this industry currently has to offer. But we really don't know what these projects are; none of them may come to any PlayStation product.
By the way, if you haven't seen "Pan's Labyrinth" on Blu-Ray, you're definitely missing out. It's one of my favorites.
