When it was announced that EA's new NBA Jam would be exclusive to the Wii, a whole lot of long-time fans who didn't own Nintendo's machine got a wee bit upset.
But perhaps the game is no longer exclusive. You can find the evidence in question at Joystiq ; it's the ESRB listing for NBA Jam for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. The ESRB needs to rate a game before it can be released in the US and Canada and although that listing has since disappeared, it now seems very possible we'll score high-flyin' dunks on all three consoles. GameSpot also reminds us of when the USK – self-regulating body that monitors the software industry in Germany – "outed" NBA Jam for the PS3 and 360 earlier this month. EA hasn't said anything official concerning this move but the game is currently in development at EA Canada and at some point, we're gonna need an update. Me, I'm a big fan of the old-school Jam games and as far as I'm concerned, just about everyone should have the option of playing this new iteration. And you had best keep it all sorts of crazy arcade-y, EA!
We'll let you know if and when EA decides to come forward with the truth. In the meantime, just keep hoping for some out-of-control b-ball goodness.
This game would sell much better as a PSN and Live download.
A lot of old school gamers have a 360 or PS3 now for more adult themed mature games, and since this game is pushing the nostalgia side of things, it would be a very smart move to bring NBA Jam to all consoles.
Plus, better resolution and online gameplay would make it a sure-fire winner on PS3 and 360 over the Wii.
NBA Jame and Tecmo football are the only sports games I can stand, and Jam was always hilarious. "Is it the shoes?"
What else can we resurrect? I want Dino Crisis back, and Nightmare Creatures.
I would rally by your side World for a Dino Crisis on PS3. I friggin loved the original on the PS1.
Dino Crisis was awesome.
And with a few exceptions, Tecmo Bowl and NBA Jam are the only sports games I really loved, too.
i still have some Tecmo Super Bowl tourneys with friends and family, original nintendo set and all, every thanksgiving
Oh man I was a HUGE fan of this game on SNES and Genesis. "He's warming up." "He's on FIRE!" I hope this does come to the PS3 as I was extremely disappointed when I heard it was Wii exclusive. I'm not a sports fan in the least bit so the goofiness of this game made playing sports games with friends.

Hmm, I think I'll hold out for the NBA vs. NFL Jam game.
NBA Jam was about the only basketball game that I ever enjoyed. Would be nice if they gave this to us. Always a funny game, lets hope they stay true to what it was.
HE'S ON FIRE!!!
I hope it's 5 bucks. I'll buy it if it is.
Boomshakalaka!
lol, and i still use that line every so often in life.
me too!! lol
i've been waiting on this game to show up on ps3… all i can say is I'm gonna be dunking like crazy, get on fire, and start dropping threes. the winning strategy!
Hopefully they let you unlock the old arcade style of graphics but other then that I'm going to have this one on my Gamefly Q.. Since EA has the NFL rights why not bring back NFL blitz?
Not looking forward to EVERYONE choosing the Heat during online play.
This game was a lot of fun in the arcades. The system port was horrible.
or it could be a mistake.
i remember L4D got a rating for ps3, that never turned out.
not to mention it popped up on games website, AND EAs website!
same thing with mass effect 2.
so i doubt it, if it does than its probably a timed exclusive for the wii.
NBA Jam. Those were the good ol days (and bad). I played it plenty times when i was a kid on those game stores. When i finally had me a Sega Megadrive, i asked my relatives to send me a copy for my Christmas gift. The copy was a dud 🙁
Would definitely be nice but I'll believe it when I see it. It would be as if EA was all hyped on making Jam with some Wii waggle and then realized, hell, it'll be just as good without it on the other systems.
