So the Insonmniac guys just loved Vanquish at E3; they called it "Gears of War on crack."
We did get some gameplay via floor camera – which you can see in the article linked above – but although shorter, this new "secret movie" that recently popped up on YouTube is even more impressive. Because the player isn't fighting a boss and there are multiple enemies and multiple vantage points, we can better understand Insomniac's comments now. …this is pretty crazy. You've got the fast sliding, the slow-mo effects, and what we're hoping will be a rock-solid frame rate to go along with the insane action.
We get the sneaking suspicion that the sliding mechanic could potentially pose problems in certain situations, either with the camera or collision detection concerning cover points and/or allies, but maybe we don't have to worry. The game is looking better and better and above all else, we really want a demo. Like, soon.
Related Game(s): Vanquish
That was pretty sweet. I did find myself chuckling at some of the acrobatics.
Wow, this game is starting to look prety good. I am going to keep a close eye on this one.
Now that was much more impressive! I hope the music isn't like that in the final game doe.
I dunno, I kinda like the music as it suits the fast paced gameplay

Well I'd buy that for a dollar!
/nod to Robocop for all you youngsters out there.
I just ordered Robocop on blu ray. 🙂
"Part man. Part machine. All cop. The future of law enforcement."
I've heard rumors of a remake coming…
ooh they have to get Peter Weller to cameo.
Rumours of a remake you say? What do you know? Remake, reboot, or new instalment?
Here is a little info. Seems it will be a reboot. This says 2010, but, I have seen more recently 2013 for a release.
"Iâm sure you have all heard by now that a new Robocop movie is in the works to be released in 2010. There were fears all over the internet that the film would be aiming for a PG-13 rating, which by Robocop standards, would be one large turd of a movie. We have some good news. The new Darren Aronofsky directed Robocop will most likely be rated R. Robocop was not meant to be rated PG-13, considering the original Robocop was so gory and fantastic that it recieved an X rating itâs first time through the MPAA.
It was also reported that the film would be sequel to the others, however this has been proven false. Robocop will be a reboot, much like "Batman Begins". In addition to this fact, it was also confirmed that the film will not be in 3-D, a gimmick that supposedly the people involved with the film were considering. Movies donât really gain much from being 3-D and Iâm glad that they did not pursue this route.
So there you have it, a whole new generation will be introduced to the joys and wonder that is "Robocop"."
If you are wondering…Darren Aronofsky directed Requiem for a Dream, The Fountain, and The Wrester, among other lesser known films.

i know i'll unleash hell on my ass with this comment, ahh well
I don't like Robocop, I love judge dredd though
Dead or alive, you are coming with me.
High is full of 80's sci-fi quotes this week. lol
Last I read it was scrapped completely.
World, you are a killjoy!
Would it help if I told you it was scrapped because the director said he wanted a gritty substantive remake and the cash strapped studio wanted a mostly-CG 3D extravaganza-
OK, you asked for it.
I'll be back!
Wow. I'm officially interested now, if not sold. That looks fun.
Very very nice, will this game keep me away from MoH?
Looks good to me. Looks more entertaining than gears. My biggest gripe about Gears game play was the characters were too heavy and sluggish. They looked retarded too.
Years of war will do that to you.
Make you look like an ogre?
No, years of marriage will do that.
How long you think i have? im only a year in.
Only a year? Get out NOW! You can still be saved.
ha ha ha, now the name make sense.lol
It seems I'm missing something, but I don't like it!!!
Well with this particular scene, with all the "frickin' lazer beams" shooting all around, it does seem rather busy, perhaps overwhelming.
I definitely vote yes for a demo.. nowish please??
When are we going to see it running on the PS3?
So far all we hear is how great they think the PS3 is and that it is the lead platform but, they only show videos of the R.I.P.360 version… Something smells fishy here.
Please show me a video of it running on the Black Beauty and the Beast without any of the issues that plagued Bayonetta and you might get my pre-order.
How can you tell that was on the 360? I didn't see any button indicators on screen and at the end it had both the ps3 and 360 logo on it.
Well, this one does not but the first videos that came out had and they where all X360.
Now since the PS3 is the lead, wouldn't it make sense to show that off right out of the gates? Especially since their last effort on the PS3 was such rubbish…
actually the first video was on the ps3 cause u can see press L2 on the screen .
apperantly the demoed it for both platforms

I guess if this type of game appeals to you this would look good, but as for me I am not wholly interested. Honestly it looks like a bunch of run and gun twitchy gameplay with some unique-ish elements thrown in like the sliding and slow motion.
I know those aren't unique per se but I haven't seen those elements used in abundance in a twitchy run and gunner.
Probably will pass on this as I am more interested in Deus Ex.
Funny that you mention slo mo: Wasnt the first deux-ex one of the first shooters to include slow motion? Or do my memory fail me now? Not sure…
Anyhow, what looked wrong to me was the seeimgly endeless forward slide to cover. Wonder how they'll explain *that* move to make it make any sense at all…
Did ya know there's also going to be a new Deus Ex book coming out that will tie into the upcoming game???
Book: Deus Ex: The Icarus Effect.
Del Rey announced recently that they will publish a novel based upon the Deus Ex game series. Called Deus Ex: The Icarus Effect.
The book will focus on Secret Service agent Anna Kelso and special-ops soldier Ben Saxon.
âWeâre really pleased to be able to announce this new Deus Ex novel with Del Rey books,â said Andre Vu, Marketing Game Manager, Deus Ex. âThe novel is set in the Deus Ex universe and there will be characters and story elements in it, that will overlap with our next videogame Deus Ex: Human Revolution, hope fans will be very excited about.â
Deus Ex: The Icarus Effect and Deus Ex: Human Revolution will both release in 2011.
Looks like aiming is probably low priority in this game but other than that it looks pretty fantastic
Maybe when they said "on crack" they didn't necessarily mean it all in a good way? It is a drug, after all.
That looks cool but the MUSIC! Wow I don't know if I could stomach that for an entire game. It looks less like strategy and more like a twitch frenzy.
But that's only after seeing a minute of it.
(something tells me that they're trying to be edgy and cool in the eyes of westerners by adding the over-the-top action and fast-paced music)
Looks a lot more interesting, but still too much of a blur-fest.
Plus I'm thinking you can hardly tell the bad guys from the good guys if you're doing all that hyper-sonic running & gunning.
Damn, I just killed my whole team…OOPS!
This game makes me feel like raving for some reason…
LMAO…crouch, then slow motion back/side flip while shooting with techno music playing in the background. This is a mix of generic fast paced armor suit shooting with John Woo's last game (slow motion sliding, etc). The game looks polished, but then again Transformers Revenge of the Fallen was polished and it was lacking. This game has the same feeling. By the time 'Wet' came out, slow motion sliding couldn't save a game. Tired of these type of shooters, looks like a better Lost Planet…looks like a better 'every other mediocre third person shooter'…get my drift. And the music, oh the music…can you really take anything serious with this playing in the background…lol The game does look promising though…will rent, thats for sure. Anybody else feel this is another pointless game? Hope Mafia II delivers.
Not sure how I feel about the WET style sliding for these hulking horrors.
edit: lol, I hadn't even read your comment yet when I made mine FM23. It does work in Wet, it just doesn't make it great.

Yeah the sliding worked in the game, but for me, Wet was just too stupid for me too finish. What ever that John Woo game is called, that was the only game that made over the top sliding fun for the moment.
I'm sorry, still not happening. So here we have more footage of everything still being silver/grey. Twitchfest, buttsliding action.
Ok, so the buttsliding reminds me of a recent game called Wet. Wet had this very same mechanic and you know what, it was terrible. You got caught on stuff as you slid and would stay stuck in the sliding position while you were being shot, not good.
The environments are all the same bland, no color, washed out silver/grey scheme. They did add a third color to this video though, did you see the minute amounts of red? Wow . . .
I'm sorry I still feel the same way, twitchfest, bland, poor mechanic, waste of money. Thumb me down now, but don't say I didn't warn you when every level looks exactly the same way, you're screaming at your tv because your butt slide got you stuck on a corner while the boss smashed your head in, and you finally realize the super fast action is only there to keep you from realizing the graphics are average at best.
At least Rubi belonged on her knees 😉
I don't know why, but that right now in this moment, just made me laugh like crazy.
