It's one of our most anticipated games of the year and now that we have an official launch date and new media, we're even more excited.
Today, Namco Bandai Games America Inc. has announced that Enslaved: Odyssey to the West will release for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 on October 5, 2010 in North America. New screenshots and that impressive video we've seen before are now available at the game's official site . The game follows the adventures of two very different characters in a post-apocalyptic America; there's Monkey, the strong and athletic fighter and climber, and Trip, a tech-savvy woman who needs to couple her smarts with Monkey's physical capability in order to survive. Both were prisoners but when Trip escapes, she realizes she needs help…and binds Monkey to her. Two lives, one quest. Described as a "tactical action/adventure game," Enslaved presents a "complex relationship between the two main characters" and what should be a great mix of combat, strategy and platforming. Lastly, let's not forget that Ninja Theory has utilized "influences and contributions from top music and film industry talent."
Yes, October is once again shaping up to be hectic but if these developers have done their job, Odyssey to the West should be amongst the class of the month, if not the year.

can't wait for this game, I have faith on those guys…..
I meant in those guys, God damn u hangover
God damn B&B liquors
Pun accepted and appreciated ;).
Yeah it looks pretty awesome, i must say…
If the review contains anything along the lines of "Ninja Theory took what they learned over the last few years and did everything we would have hoped for in a sequel to Heavenly Sword", then it will be a good day for us all.
but alas…
so whats their goal to see whether this game is a bust or not this time?
Gonna hafta be at least 2 million if 1.5 million is a flop to them.
*Ears perk up*
Tactics? I like games that make me think about what I'm doing, as opposed to waltzing in guns blazing. Or in this case, fists swinging. I think I've already mentioned my interest in this game several times as a result of the ICO idea, and the Heavenly Sword devs, so I'll just say, give me a European date damnit (Wait… Ninja Theory is a European dev… Does that mean we get it earlier? Oh, I do hope so.)
Peace.
This game looks like the kind of action adventure game I've been craving.

Wait, this is one of your most anticipated games of the year?
Edit: Somebody name me a game where controlling two characters together has resulted in a great game and I'll be quiet. If you say Resi5 I'll laugh.

ICO. Boyaa 🙂
Teg 1 World 0 . now ermmmmm the galaxy I think
in a tactics (ie. ff tactics) game, you're controlling a whole of characters =P
I know what… hmmm
Last Rebellion!!!!
wait… what?
Okay you cheated, I never played ICO
@ World
Ratchet and Clank: Going Commando. Or any of the other games in the series, really.
You probably got me there, I kind of consider those kids games so i dont play em.
Looks promising, could be one of the best multiplats.
I'm with world on this one. I have not been excited about this one, it looks like a hack n slash with some minor platforming.
I just have some serious doubts about this one and I'm afraid those of you getting excited might be let down. Games not out yet so I could be wrong, but I'm definitely waiting for the reviews.
I still didn't play Heavenly Sword, I got my PS3 in 2008. I might buy it of eBay sometime, also have to get Folklore and Valkyria Chronicles… >___>
I was honestly a little disappointed with heavenly sword. I played it more than a year after release and had heard nothing but praise.
Thing is, it's a hack n slash which I'm not overly fond of, but worse than that, the button combo's have to be entered slowly even tho the action on the screen is super fast.
I know some ppl might be upset by my next comment, but I wasn't overly impressed by the story either. I felt it was a mediocre hack n slash that got a lot of praise because when it came out, no other hack n slash looked as pretty.
The concept isn't doing it for me but since it's Ninja Theory I'm somewhat interested. Probably wait for a price drop on this one.
i was really looking forward to this considering the last game they made heavenly sword was a masterpiece!
though, im a little concerned on the lack of attention and exposure the game is getting.
i mean with most games you see a new preview of it every 2 months or so, and constant new trailers.
ive seen neither for this.
hopefully its just a coincidence and this turns out to be a worthy addition to the heavenly sword family.
