We weren't about to deprive you of Sackboy's offering from yesterday's E3 press conference.
Amidst Killzone 3 , PlayStation Move launch details, amazing 3D presentations, the PlayStation Plus program and Twisted Metal , this little piece of stage goodness sorta went unnoticed. But LittleBigPlanet 2 is going to smash any restrictions you may typically expect from standard player customization and at E3, they showed off some examples of unique gameplay styles and one particularly cool aspect: they invited several talented game designers to try their hand at making whatever they chose. They had 24 hours and Media Molecule didn't offer any assistance whatsoever…and look what they managed to create.
Seriously, if you wish to be creative, there will be no better game option in 2010. Media Molecule has gone all out; they've attempted to give us a production that feels so unbelievably open and free of limitation that it absolutely boggles the mind. Along with Gran Turismo 5 , LBP2 is bound to be the PS3 exclusive that helps to propel console sales this holiday season.

i loved it too! as a matter of fact, i'm sure everyone did 😀
This game does lookd birlliant but the guy doesn't do a good job of selling it though.
Im already sold. This looks good 🙂
Video hasn't loaded for me yet but even so, this is a definite buy for me (depends on the game region its available on the stores here if its a D1P or not..let it be R1….)
R1: "Rent first"?
R1 = Region 1, Shams.
Ah, thank you.
what fluff said 🙂
I don't see how a game like this can't get anything but perfect scores. My only gripe with the first LBP was the jumping but I think got over that.
The jumping felt floaty but then when you realized what you were, a sack, and then realized the weight of each thing around you, it was easy to realize why everything worked the way they did.
Wow. That's a lot of realization up there.

Yes. The jumping in LBP just feels "right."
Yeah, I never understood folks who complained about the "floaty" jumping of sackboy and said they hated the game and never played it again afterwards because of the controls.
How did these people ever make it through any game? I love how everything has "weighty" feel to it. Adds tremendously to the gameplay.
And I am also super psyched about the sequel! It's 100 games in one with limitless potential, easily worth the price of admission in my eyes. One of the few games that gives you more than your money's worth. Can't wait. 🙂
They said you can even make an RPG with this. I was really hoping they'd show us an example of that but instead we got car combat in a circle. That's alright, but I want to see the meat.
I suppose a rpg game is a bit too in-depth to present at e3 or make in 24 hours in the video sample so non of the game designers chose to make a genre of it. But still, it does intrigue me of how it's even possible to make an RPG game with the tools. RPG is complicated. It would have to have a story, some sorts of level-up, multiple movesets, etc.
It shows you a lot more than car combat.
Anyone remember those cool RPG builders on PS1?
They are really going off with the create, share thing. This would surely be a great party game for guests and the little kids should have fun with it.
I can't wait for when this game releases. There are many brilliant people out there in the world and it just excites me what type of games are going to be made by them. I'm buying it, but after I recover a bit from spending money on the GT5 collector's edition.
The create seems to be so much more simpler, so that alone is what has me psyched.
A lot of people hesitate to make levels in LBP1 because of how complex things can get.
In LBP2 it seems you can tell EVERYTHING what to do:
-Make a tree fall when sackboy gets close
-Make a horde of enemies follow you when the stage gets dark
-etc.
Mouse + keyboard support will be sweet. I prefer the controller for everything, but for making levels a mouse is perfect
It only gets more complicated from here actually.
As far as I know they've kept things the same and just added a ton of stuff. Not that making a tree fall was ever that difficult. I'm not sure it would be a good idea to dumb things down.
First day buy for me. for some reason I'm really excited for Naughty Bear. I know it's not cutting edge or a system seller like LBP2 but it just looks hilarious, twisted, and simply fun to play. It kinda slipped from the medias eye for a bit, but it should be out soon 🙂
I hope it is fun. I'm looking forward to the review here.
Same here, I hope psxe gives it a just review
It looks like those fun games you can mess around and be as twisted as you want
I know I'm gonna have some fun with the create tool. Look out for my platforming RPG some time after the release. LBP2…it only does everything!
Ah, another D1P, we might even end up with 2 copies as my son adores the first one and I may not get a chance to play it otherwise.
D1Ping extravaganza, lately. Poor wallet 🙁
LOL! I know. They did this to us last year too….
Holy balls.
Soo how long until someone makes LittleFinalFantasyVIIPlanet?
Someone please do Final Fantasy 13 justice with the LittleBigPlanet 2 create tool. Turn-based preferably…sadly enough I gave my copy of the real game to my brother, it was that bad for me.
Crap…..WHERE'S MY JAW!!!!
You dropped it? Try the PSX Lost and Found office, I believe that it's on the third floor just past the Forum.
This game looks like a lot of fun.
This game Little big planet 2 will be a huge seller this holiday and sell some playstations too.
LBP2 and GT5 will both be selling many PS3s so hopefully they make bundles for these very Awesome games(fingers cross)… I aleady have a PS3 but it wouldn't hurt to have another plus these games are just going to be that good.
I love LBP, but every time I try to get a friend to play it he comments that he is not two years old. It's such a damn shame. Still haven't got around to creating my Space Invaders clone yet… Damn RDR.
Oh well, between LBP2 and GT5, my whole 2011 is pretty well going to be wrapped up. D1Ps all around. Sony is kicking it into high gear.
Peace.
im a little worried about this.
i hope the SP campaign is all platformer like the previous game was.
we have very, very, VERY! few platformers as it is the last thing i can afford is to loose another one!
so what if you can create whichever level you want, im paying for the game so i can play some levels created by the masters.
little big planets SP mode in anything other than platformer would be like GOW as a racing game, or crash bandicoot as a RTS!
I thought you got rid of the original LBP because the levels were too bloody hard with bad controls? Or was that another user with no name?
