As we all know, the long, long, long -awaited Duke Nukem Forever finally died a merciful death after 3D Realms got rid of the majority of its development team. But now, thanks to a mysterious Facebook update , Duke has returned…at least in rumor form.
As you can see, the game in question is supposedly called, "Duke Nukem: D-Day" and this seems to be some sort of viral marketing campaign. The profile administrator says "Duke Nukem doesn't stay down for long" and there's even a screenshot that shows a soldier opening fire on some gigantic monster in the midst of an arena. Now, as GameSpot points out, that picture might come from leaked DNF footage that came to light this past May. The video can be seen through the link (it contains some potentially offensive content, though, so be careful) and now everyone is wondering: is "D-Day" a renamed Forever ? Or are we looking at more evidence of Gearbox Software's Duke Begins title, which previously held a 2010 estimated launch date before they were forced to stop development? Currently, neither Take-Two Interactive or 3D Realms have had anything to say about this, and Gearbox has remained silent on the issue as well.
So what's going on? Why can't we ever just get some clear news on the status of any Duke-related video game? This must be some sort of great cosmic joke…
I dont even care anymore.
me either. i haven't played duke nukem since i was about 12
I'd love to see Duke come back on the consoles and/or PC. The DS and PSP get the Duke Nukem Trilogy next year so hopefully this news is real.
That's exactly why I didn't make a big deal aboot Duke Nukem Forever going the way of the DoDo. I knew there would be something new Duke Nukem related.
Always bet on Duke.
It's amazing that this once hot property has even been allowed to sit in limbo for so many years. Get it together and give us some Duke already, us gamers still want some. Long live the King!
The Cosmic joke would be if they finally, after all these years, released a new Duke title and it bombed.
And what on earth was potentially offensive in the photo or on that link?

With the continued hype and expectation the game will need to be sublime to meet the expectations and avoid assassination in game reviews. It's like the hype and expectation for Killzone 2, except for Duke, it's been building for several more years, and a lot of people are almost urging failure now.
isent that the name of the game coming to PSP?
i remember when 3D officially closed down 2K said the psp games not canned just DNF.
hope DN does make a return to the PC soon though, still every day i play duke nukem 3D.
every day either on my PC or my Iphone, after playing the game for what, several years im still not bored of it.
its time to kick a$$ and chew bubble gum, and im all out of gum.
ahhhhhhhhhhh i miss his one liners, no one can top the formidable duke, no one, not even nathan drake.
EVERY DAY?! I'm gonna look that claim up in the Guinness Book Of World Records. You must be in there for that.
lol.
every day for a half hour on the train on my way to tafe.
something has to keep me awake at 7 in the morning.
If someone's working on it, why are they so afraid to talk about it? Does working on Duke games come with a curse?
Lol! Duke is a hydra!
Q!
"i am home"
Don't know why I was thumbed down; when I stated that "Duke was a hydra" I meant Duke Nukem has many heads, when one rumour about it finally dies another rises; hence this latest rumour about it returning… again 🙂
Q!
"i am home"
Thanks for the thumbs up… some have some sense 🙂

The thumb givers are a fickle crowd. One minute they're Fonzing you, the next you're going down in the gladiator ring. Don't lose sleep over it. It's all good fun.
somebody call Hercules
Ah, Duke lives on beyond the grave. The sick joke that was Duke : Did Not Finish, continues as Duke : D(as in Dead? Deceased? Departed? Derailed? Deferred? Delayed? Denatured? Deep-sixed? Detained? De-installed? Devolved?)-Day.
Someone please put Duke out of his misery, the poor man won't have the will to even utter one more "Come get some!". If Duke Nukem were a horse, the vet would have put it out of it's misery by now.
I other news, D-Day has been delayed 12 years and no one gives a toss. Not even the devlopers.
I'm sorry, I didn't mean that,
D-Day will release solidly next year March 12th. In the same story GT5 has been pushed forward to December 10th. And they're releasing a version where you can drive with your face.
Long live Duke lol. Another rumour about him, this game if it ever comes out better be something good 🙂
d day dis comes out is d day pigs fly.
Im sick of Duke Nukem. Just let it die already. There was and is many many better characters out there.(not to mention games that actually exist..)
In the year 3073, DNF's un-final release date will still be history's top joke.
Sweet, now spill the beans!
OK,
So, you want Split Pea or Lima????????
Split Pea-lease
c wat i did their?
Yeah, I did….
You split hairs there…..er…I mean….peas.
LOL
I mean come on how hard is it to make duke nukum game? You already have 6 parts of call of duty I would figure coming up with a storyline for a duke nukum is not that hard.
