There's another "Hero" on the way, and it's not Guitar Hero or DJ Hero , but the more generic Band Hero .

Activision has been letting a few of the scheduled songs slip through the cracks for the past few months, but they've finally released the entire track list, along with a list of the 69 tracks that can be imported from Guitar Hero 5 . You should also know that all GH5 downloadable content (with the exception of Jimi Hendrix tracks) is also playable in Band Hero . You can view the entire lists if you so desire; there's even a breakout of the new songs you can expect and the track list for the Nintendo DS version. The console versions of the game will feature the likes of 3 Doors Down, "When I'm Gone," Aly and AJ, "Like Whoa," Carl Douglas, "Kung Fu Fighting," Culture Club, "Do You Really Want To Hurt Me," Devo, "Whip It," Duran Duran, "Rio," The Go-Go's, "Our Lips Are Sealed," Jackson 5, "ABC," Joan Jett, "Bad Reputation," and much more. The importable songs include "No Sleep Till Brooklyn" by the Beastie Boys, "Livin' on a Prayer" by Bon Jovi, "Spiderwebs" by No Doubt, "Santeria" by Sublime, "Stranglehold" by Ted Nugent, "Everlong" by the Foo Fighters, and "Today" by The Smashing Pumpkins. All told, this game will feature a staggering library of over 300 total tracks, so it's unlikely you'll get bored any time soon.

Band Hero is set to release on November 3 and if you're one of those music fans who absolutely require the latest "Hero" installment out there, you need to mark that day on your calendar.

I think it just looks that way because of the italics. I've noticed that effect previously. Look at the first sentence.

I third that. Who wants to play those songs? The only good thing is that maybe girls will want to actually pick up the guitar and warble to Taylor Swift songs. That is obviously the demographic Activision and Neversoft/Vicarious Visions/Budcat Creations want.

most of those songs are entirely on older versions, they just want to make like a compilation or something..

yeah, this is getting retarded. Bobby's tryin to make cash a wee bit too fast. Its actually pretty pathetic. yeah lts go out and spend 500 bucks a year on plastic band equipment. Guitar hero 3 was it for me, it had a good soundtrack with more than 3 or 4 good songs.

Could not agree more!!! GH3 was the last of the greats before it started feeling commercialised. But times have changed.

Nothing has captured my excitement more than the announcmement of the very first Guitar Hero game on PS2. It was revolutionary for its time, it saved the music game genre.

Now, the GH franchise is slowly strangling itself and only the fans who have been there from the start can see this crime against the video gaming universe.

RIP (original) Guitar Hero. Your awesomeness and unique structure will be sorely missed.

how the hell is Band Hero supposed to be different than Guitar Hero 5 anyways?

Activision is just trying to get more money out of people.

next wil be the "Tony Hawk's Expert Skater" and "Return to Castle Doggenstein"

I actually hope Kotick pulls through and makes these Hero games "non console dependant." That way the news about his stupid games won't show up on my favorite sites.

I was a big fan of these music games, but Activision have just sucked the fun right out of it. I've had enough of all these "Hero" games.

DLC is the way to go, and Harmonix know it. Harmonix is comprised of musicians and game developers, so they know their stuff, unlike Activision who are a buncha suits out to make money by adding bells and whistles to a game franchise creating an oversaturated market!!!!

Long live Rock Band!!!! The greatest yet least known (at least here in Australia) video game music title!!!! (Rock Band 2 wasn't popular enough to release here in Australia, so I had to import it from UK, such a pity that Guitar Hero continues to rule here, why didn't they just leave it at World Tour and Metallica? Concentrate on better DLC like Rock Band? Wait a year before announcing more Hero games, so to give people a break?!?!?)

The original Guitar Hero was about replacing air guitar with an awesome plastic guitar. It was about shredding solos to the most awesome rock and metal songs in the world!!!!

Whatever happened to that? Why is it about catering to audiences who only play games once a week? Who might think of spending money on that?

The Wii is the biggest to blame here. Nintendo showed how gaming can be a big money maker without putting in the effort to create unbelievable stuff that hardcore gamers lap up.

Wii Play being the biggest selling game this generation?!?!? Please….. it was a cheap software package with an extra remote. If it was sold separately, no one would touch it.

isent this exactly the same as GH?
i would of perfered if they kept guitar hero exactly what its name is GUITAR!
last time i checked drums, mic are not guitars.
loved 1, 2 was ok, rocks the 80s was decent, 3 was &^%$#$% awesome everything after that sucked donkey balls.
never thought i would get sick of a genre so quickly.

Band Hero is such a lame name, and after looking at the tracklist, most of the songs look lame too. I'll pass on this one and stick to DLC for Rock Band if I want new songs.
