Ben-DutkaDue to many titles escaping out of this year to avoid butting heads with certain blockbusters, we already know that many great games are penciled in for Q1 2010. But what about the rest of the year?
Well, if the latest edition of PlayStation: The Official Magazine is to be believed, FPS fans everywhere should be excited. Although we haven't seen the magazine just yet, E4G tells us that on page 20, they talk about "The Secret Games of 2010." Among these three are top shooter projects, one of which may come as a surprise to those who easily recall the development time required for Killzone 2 …that's right; supposedly, the third installment is "reportedly deep in development" and will actually launch next year. Another major FPS would be Resistance 3 , which Insomniac hinted at in a recent Full Moon Show podcast, and lastly, a Treyarch employee hinted they'd be following in Modern Warfare 2 's footsteps and are working on a sequel to 2008's World at War . We're most excited – and most skeptical – about Killzone 3 but if that drops for the holidays or something, there's little doubt it will spur Sony and the PS3 forward. As for R3, we continually insist that Resistance doesn't get anywhere near enough credit in the gaming world (R2 is the second-best FPS of the generation next to KZ2, in our opinion), so we can't wait for the third title.
And let's not forget that many critics said Call of Duty: World at War could very well be the best WWII shooter ever, and sales were impressive. So why not go for a sequel? Heck, the world is already crazy over MW2, so it seems like a fairly safe strategy. Anyway, we'll be on the lookout for more info concerning these three gigantic titles; for now, it's all just filed under "rumors."

Well! I highly doubt K3 will come out in 2010, most problably in 2011, since they are now done making the Killzone engine. But I really hope they make a more "colorful" campaign this time around, just like Killzone 1…which had alot of variations. Oh..and more weapons please 😛
Resistance 3 in 2010 seems more right, since they`ve shifted between Ratchat & Clank and Resitance 2 years between. Can`t wait for R3, loved R2 🙂
It took Naughty Dog roughly 2 years to create the master piece that is Uncharted 2 while it's taking Squeenix 5+ to release anything for the PS3.

Not too off. if Resistance 3 and Killzone 3 come out next year, well see a trend. Only tool Naughty Dog 2 years, Once the devs get a hold of how the PS3 works well start to see wait times decrease with each installment.
As for GT5, I thought they said it's been ready to go? What's the hold up?

It`s diffrent for GT5, it`s the first time it`s on PS3. Yeah, I know that GT:P came out like 2 years ago or something, but you should know that GT5 is totally different than Prologue. They`ve added more cars, damage, better physics and so on…
I really don`t belive GT6 will take another 5-6 years to make.

As much as I despise having too many FPS, I would get Killzone 3 and Resistance 3 in a heart beat without giving it a second though.
You can almost live on the exclusives Sony give us. No prob with any of those games, all solid performers, though I will be giving the COD game a miss.
Yea I will be passing on COD as well I really didn't care for World at War and not because it was WWII I just couldn't get into it. As for Killzone and Resistance I would definately pick up both.
Treyarch are rubbish,Activision should stop letting them make games

Killzone is the only one that interests me. It's so great once developers like Guerrilla and Naughty Dog get the PS3 hardware we don't have to wait as long between installment. Killzone 3 is sure to be a new gem.
I just hope they improve on telling a story and developing characters.
And getting RICO out of the story…god I hate that man.

I agree completely! I say kill him off gruesomely in the opening sequence of Killzone 3.

World at War 2? Not sure on that one. That game did not have the holding power that I was expecting.
If Guerrilla Games can improve as much as Naughty Dog on Killzone 3, their second release for PS3 I totally liked Killzone 2 but I want to see them excell more and not settle for "yeah this is good enough" because you always have to advance in the technology you use on the next game, Uncharted 2 have set the new standard for people to meet or over come.
I have not played any of the resistance games. I play very select few FPS games but Killzone 2 is pretty good.
I am one of the few who will skip MW2 and go for Assassin's Creed 2 instead.
yea im with you, i won't be able to play MW2 so assassins creed all the way for me
Bayonetta, Uncharted 2, Brutal Legend, Ratchet and clank(all of them), or Trine over MW2, and maybe over AC2 (mainly cause i hate fps games, and games that give you too much freedom[like infamous], but thats just my opinion)
I hated how those three games came out in a short span. Playing R2 and WaW so much I couldn't stand K2 after playing it for 20 minutes. I never got past the tanker part I was so sick of shooters.
I hear ya, I played the hell out of MW1 then W@W. When I got Killzone 2 it was refreshing, so sick of CoD, then I bought Bioshock, played it for an hour, haven't touched it sense. Not because Bioshock is a bad game, but because I'm sick of FPS.
Grab a few RPGs and you'll be refreshed in no time. 😉

Out of all them 3 titles I am least liking the thought of yet more nazi's again etc in World War 2 ffs, not again. Do something different like Modern Warfware did, then again the people that dont like MW or MW2 will be like why not the nazi's WW2 again lol.

I dont think Killzone will be out in 2010…maybe 2011..late 2011…and while see sanc at E3 2010 probly im excited about R3 doe they need to up there game and stand toe 2 toe with Killzone..and Resistance as a brand needs more praise!!…Dont care about Call Of Duty

Oh, you mean I dont have to wait 40 years to find out what happens next in killzone? althoug I do highly doubt KZ3 will be ready by the end of next year. In order for that to happen they would have had to started KZ3 almost alongside KZ2 wouldn't they? also having a game the likes of KZ2 ready in a year would raise some concern about quality.
the only reason it took them so long to make killzone 2 was because they have to make a whole new engine but now they already have the engine and it will take them a lot less time to make KZ3 i will buy killzone 3 for sure though i might not get R3 because i didn't play the first to games
well that would make 3 AAA ps3 exclusive FPS's in one year. crazy
