Ben-DutkaIt's one of the best PlayStation 3 exclusives available and arguably the best RPG of the generation to date, so of course, demand is going to be high.
Therefore, if you can't find Demon's Souls anywhere, you shouldn't be too surprised. Historically, Atlus has usually underestimated the appeal of their excellent titles; they desperately needed to release more of the original Disgaea back in the PS2 days after it started pulling down super high review scores. The same thing is happening here but this time, Atlus is on top of things and in their latest Twitter update , they say they're currently in the process of shipping more copies to stores nationwide. So don't freak out just yet because the copies are indeed coming. For our part, this is a game that's going to require your utmost attention and patience, as the difficulty can really smack you upside the head if you're not prepared. So if you're pining for some hardcore RPG action and you haven't yet scored a copy of Demon's Souls , I suggest you take a deep breath and compose yourself…if you go into this game annoyed or aggravated, you are so gonna die. Fast and frequently.
What we really need is From Software to step up and announce a sequel. Yeah, that's what the loyalists are lookin' for!

I couldn't find this game at any Wal-marts, Gamestops, or Best Buys around my area so I ordered the Collector's Edition online on Amazon for $66. I figured…"If I buy it the store, the regular edition is gonna be $64 w/ tax so why not pay $2 more for the CE?"
Just got my copy in the mail from Amazon today. Yay!! I can't wait to crank this game up! But I'm gonna have to wait till Saturday to play it. So in the meantime, I'm reading the strategy guide to make sure I make the right character the 1st time.
The included artbook and mini strategy guide is nice, too. I hope this game get advertised because I haven't seen much off anything on TV. Just web ads and rave reviews 🙂

I did the exact same thing King James. In fact I ordered two of them in case one of my friends wants to buy one from me. I am still reading the guide as well.
In the long run, you can't make the wrong character. At level 712 you have 99 in all stats.
i did the same too, i ordered from amazon, but just came 2 days ago, and i am reading the guide to make sure i am doing everything right, cuz the game does not have separate save file, everything is auto saved for the most current status, so back track your customization is not possible, that means, every upgrade or purchase has to be prudent
Aw crap there aren't anymore in stock… I just got the spare change for it to T^T hopefully I can order the collectors somewhere ^_^

i have this game and i love it, im tryng to get my knight stronger…
This game is epic and I love the Boss fights. I hope the demand never subsides because this game is worth every penny of its retail price. This game really took me by surprise because I tend not to like the medieval themed action RPGs. Demon's Souls is something else though. It's not just a game in my opinion, it's an experience!
Already have acquired all the trophies and I still haven't lost interest. PVP is fun but I haven't gotten invaded since my Soul Level is over 200 now.
Even though it sucks to be the ones who can't find a copy, it's great to know this game is selling well.
I love this game to death, but it is so damn hard. I'm actually trying not to play it today because I've been on it at least 4 hours a day for the past week. Help me sweet Jesus…….I can't stop!
If you can play with friends or multilayer. It is more fun and easier that way. Plus, you can pawn black phantom invasion with your buddies.
I saw a few game play from justin.tv pretty fun.
Every since I got this game on launch day; I have forgotten that I have any other games, lol. This game is just sooooo addicting. Probably my favorite game of this generation!
Just got my copy today from Amazon. I need to finish Uncharted 2 and Brutal Legend before I dive in though as I think this will be a time sink and a half.
Got mine on the first day. Not sure if I've ever had this much fun with a game. Every part of it is just awesome.
I am still on the fence over Demon Souls and Dragon Age…

Got it the night it was released. I love it more than UC2 (ya I said it). I've been talking it up to all my friends and several have been unable to find it anywhere glad to hear they're releasing more copies.
I'll be even more honest, after finishing U2 in just 2 days, i returned to Demons Souls which still isn't over, 4 weeks since i got it.
Demons Souls slaughters U2.
I was too scared to say anything, but I canceled my preorder of U2 because I'm having too much fun with this game.

That's the same decision I had to make lol. I'm also putting it aside until X-mas. It was hard but I believe it was worth it. Just make sure you're making the right choice! You win either way, since both games are so epic. I would get Uncharted 2 sooner, it's just I also want Tekken 6 this month so I'm forced to be frugal.
Those $60 price tags are so mean.
I hear you brother, but (thumbs down from some of the others or not) RPGs always beat out every other genre no matter how epic. 🙂
I did experience a similar issue, all of the copies in my area were out so I had to travel 45 minutes to get one, no big deal. I can understand choosing one over the other but luckily I have both. Just charted U2 and I highly recommend it, your missing the Game of The Year action at its finest, yes its very finest. And yes I completely agree, Demon's Souls is pretty fun, it just keeps growing on me.

I have no problems finding games where i live. My problem is getting the money to buy them all, and i cant. I just got uncharted 2 and waiting on modern warfare 2. I already passed on a few games already because i had to leave money for ffxiii, white knight chronicles, and MAG from next year. I had to prioritize which games would be worth my money. sadly i had to pass on ninja gaiden sigma and mini ninjas (played demo and looks fun). Now i'm passing on tekken 6 because right now, it doesnt look like its gonna be worth the 60 bucks. I'm not singling out tekken, i feel the same with all fighting games. Its fun playing it locally but not as much online, thats my opinion. I like playing Marvel vs capcom 2 local on my ps2 before with a bunch of friends and its more fun, and yes, i know online for MvsC2 on ps2 wasnt available. It was more fun for me with a bunch of people taking turns than just waiting for a new opponent playing online especially when lag becomes an issue. Button lag was horrible when i played soul calibur 4 online where quick reflexes were a big part of the game.
This is the one game that cuts into my Uncharted 2 time. As amazing as Uncharted 2 is, i have played Demon souls more

I am so excited for this game and I am desperately trying to find a copy.
But so far I gota say Uncharted 2 is my favorite game this generation and I dot intend to compare two completely different (allbeit awesome) animals!

I was surprised to see it be out of stock everywhere around me. Toys R Us apparently doesn't carry it (which ruined my buy 2 get 1 free plan with U2 and Batman), but also BestBuy and Gamestop were out too!
So I ordered the Collectors from amazon and am waiting….not very patiently. Hoping it gets here by tomorrow at the latest so I can make the most of my weekend

Best RPG on PS3, I just got my Delux copy from Amazon with bonus CD, just created character and going through the first tombstone which is the Small King, I just love the feeling of the environment and the cool mysterious look of the Nexus. that is what I wanted for so long in this gen.
Best RPG this gen indeed, now to me Lost Odyssey has just moved to the second place, still the best for 360 imo.

I played the demo for a short moment, i did not like the cartoonish look of the graphics, i know the game battle system is really fun and addictive, i guess i will get a used copy when the price is cheaper just for the heck of it. right now, i am all about Demon's Souls with inFamous along the side. 😀
p.s. when U2 dropped the price, i might try it out too, (i am a shooter hater so i dont need to explain further why i have not picked up so far), but i am trying to push my limit and expand my taste in different genres, but some genres might never appeal to me, i am trying very hard. :O

About to crank this game up!
I see a lot of ppl dropping U2 for Demon's Souls. All I can say is…Some1 can ruin U2's story for you. I don't think Demon's Souls' strong point is story. So I would try to get U2 as soon as possible.
If you want to push a game to Christmas…Why not Borderlands, or Dragon Age, or Brutal Legend? Don't fight the PS3's golden boy. I'm getting Uncharted 2 next week. I had too much fun with Uncharted 1 and read too many rave reviews to push it back till December (looking at you World).
Okay starting Demon's Souls….NOW!
Preordered this for the hubby got the extras with it like the cd and the really really tiny strategy book it's the same size as the game case not really worth the money but my hubby says it has helped just hard to read.
