WarDevil kind of falls into the same category as L.A. Noire ; development progress often remains a mystery and details are few and far between, but those in charge always pop up occasionally just to say, "yep, we're still working on it."
Now, we have more details – looks like the designers have finally emerged from darkness again – and they're pretty interesting. According to the most recent Edge edition , which hit store shelves across the pond this past week on September 29, the much-anticipated third-person action title is on the cover; we assume it's well-deserved, too. Included in that big unveiling is the statement that developer DigiGuys wanted to deliver "Hollywood-grade" visuals that run at a silky smooth 60 frames per second, "with no compromise on the fidelity of its high-resolution textures and a suite of filtering effects." That's a fairly boastful claim but Edge believes they might actually be true to their word, and we have to remember that the game is now "leading" on the PlayStation 3. In fact, running demos were being shown at the Tokyo Game Show last month and while some say it wasn't entirely complete, the technicals seem to be in place, at the very least. Of course, now we're all sorts of interested and we'd like to know about a release date, although we get the feeling it won't arrive until later next year.
Remember, we're talking about a title that we've known about for over three years, and the developers originally had it running on the first Xbox. So…it's been a while.

Never heard of it…hmmm it looks intresting
This game quickly went from a want to a don't care, the devs played games too much. After the whole fiasco on the psu forums i gave them the benefit of the doubt but they kept pushing the info date back.
and then when they do announce something, it's that it went multiplat again. I honestly dont believe the game exists, or if it does it'll be mediocre.
Where does it say that the game has been released ?
"Presenting E207 and its cover star, WarDevil, the thirdperson action game that its developer, the Ealing Studios-based Digi-Guys, hopes âwill shake up the industryâ. Subscribers have their copies in their hands now, but itâll be on UK shop shelves on September 29."
I think they were talking about the magazine being on store shelves .
Yeah, sorry. I just fixed it.
I didn't think I could've been reading that correctly…
Sounds sort of interesting. Have to wait and see.
All I want to know is… who's coming with me??? lol All I really want to know is if this game is the next Duke Nukem: Forever. I guess if there was some tech demoes at TGS then I guess maybe not, but I'm surprised I didn't see anything about it because the screenshots I've seen for this game look pretty impressive and running at 60 would just be icing on the cake in the graphical/performance aspect of the game. Plus I think the showing at the TGS would have been its' first showing, which makes it more surprising I didn't see anything on the internet. Here's to hoping this game turns out to be real and also turns out to be a good game.

well my friend is working on this game, he says that this is PS3 exclusive??? no talk to him again. its running 1080p and at 60 fps, this is the reason for its delay, because they are still tweaking the engine to run at 1080p, it was planned for 360 but was later axed, as the devs wanted it to be 1080p, and at that time 360 didn't supported native 1080p. And yes it will use installation on hard drive.

Will this be the first game you buy for your PS3 or you still won't have enough money by then?
was that called for?
i heard a rumor that this game went multiplatt again is this right, i think it was IGN that said it went Multi
AWWWW, next year??? thats like… 50 years from now
so does this classify as vaporware yet?
anyway, this is what i like to see a game magazine (yes i hate edge too) with details for a game not due out for at least 1 more year.
i miss the good old days where game magazines had details on games months before websites and up to a year before release.
i remember reading a 6 page article in OPM years back on the path of neo, ages before websites even new of its exsistance.
but now reading last months OPM they have reviews for wolfenstine.
a review for a game out in august in a october edition????????????????
also batman AA released in sept reviewed in oct.
and a few other reviews same thing.
onto the previews they had 2 good ones, GOW3 and heavy rain.
all the others were on borderlands, brutal ledgend, the saboteur.
games coming out in a few months.
i dont spend 30 bucks for a mag so i can read about last months games, i spend 30 bucks to find about games not due out for months.
i know its not the mags fault because its not up to them its up to the publisher and developer but come on why has it changed so much?
i use to love sitting down for a hour or so reading every last letter, now almost everything i read i have already known and have so for some time.
the content has drematically dropped and the price has trippled.
these mags use to go for 10 bucks now their over 30
Hopefully this game will actually release at some point while we're all still alive. As for Edge, they gave Killzone 2 a 7.0 (according to Metacritic), and I'm still pissed about it. I mean, I can't trust their journalism, though that doesn't have to mean the game won't kick ass *!*

Hexen i believed u had sense of humor. Now people are being offended by sarcasm.
Yeah..:)I don't like putting S/ on statements that are pretty obvious to be sarcasm.
I predict… a major flop
sory lol
Lies and Gorilla dust! It's just more vaporware.
yeah I thought this was vaporware as well but I went to their site and it has been updated and saying that Wardevil will be revealed in October 2009.
So I suppose at the end of this month we will know for sure.
Also, I thought it was a PS3 exclusive after Sony bought the rights to it….?
