It's one of our most anticipated titles of 2009, and all you who were saying the original was too repetitive should definitely pay attention: in addition to new abilities and missions comes multiple gameplay enhancements that should really flesh out the entire stealth/action adventure.
The developer walkthrough that debuted at E3 really impressed us; the gameplay variety takes center-stage and we're always on the lookout for new details. Well, how does an "exotic" gameplay element sound? We don't know what it is yet, but Split-Screen noticed the personal work experience for ACII game/mission and level designer, François Roughol . Here's the comment in question that has everyone guessing:
"Complete design of another yet unannounced exotic gameplay and its mission, from prototyping to final design."
We really thought we had heard about the vast majority of the gameplay improvements in this game, what with Ezio swimming and taking advantage of Leonardo da Vinci's latest inventions, but it seems there's a little something else to expect. Any ideas? This new main hero is far more agile and diverse than Altair in the original title, which is why we really can't wait to get our hands on Assassin's Creed II . Give us that "exotic" gameplay, Ubisoft!
Yeah, I really hope ACII is not as repetitive as the original
Agreed
Ugh, I completely forgot this game, fail on my part, now I have to scavenge some cash for this game, curse you video games.
Damn, so did I! I guess I was too busy thinking about the GOd of War Collection and Uncharted 2. I have to save 60 more dollars!
This is one of the 3 I'll be getting this quarter. I'd really like to know what this feature will be…"Exotic"…Boobies in this game too?
exotic =/= erotic
I know the difference. 😛 But when I think of exotic places or people, I think of romance and sexuality.
Hm…when I think of exotic I think of rare things or stuff you can only find in certain areas xD like exotic pets for instance
lol. Well I suppose boobs are something some guys can only find in rare places…like strip joints. 😛
I think of exotic women too. 🙂
Isn't he referring to the chariot races?
that would be badass
Lol. finally. An assasin that can swim.
Well maybe the "exotic" feature isn't that important or noticable? Maybe its got something to do with getting those "ladies of the night" to help you during missons?
Vampires? creeepy.
LOL.
Ladies of the night = vampires? LOL.
Classic!
Oh, to be so young and naive.
Think more along the lines of prostitutes.
No, the "exotic gameplay element" is this mission where you don't pickpocket or eavesdrop on a conversation. It's TOTALLY OUTSIDE TEH BOX
How about this exotic gameplay element? When you beat the game, you get unlock Splinter Cell: Conviction for your PS3! That'd be exotic enough for me 😛
the game looks more and more awesome everyday approaching its release.
First AC was crap and I'm pretty much expecting the same for this.
Other than that Ms. Jade Raymond should just concentrate on making a game that is actually good rather than peppering it with gimmicks.
a game cant change?
AC1 was a very good game just to repetetive.
they have removed that, and added allot of new weapons and gameplay features.
Sounds like someone didn't do their research…
i only wished they made this more of a stealth game.
last time i checked, the whole point of being a assassin was to swoop in kill your target and leave without anyone knowing you were ever there.
not dropping down and alerting 50 guards who start attacking you.
kinda pointless if the whole bloody country knows you were there.
prime example.
the part where you have to kill a target who is at a public execution.
you climb the rooftops hes directly below you, you could throw a knife and kill him, or jump down slice his head off and climb back up.
but noooooooooooo
the game makes you jump down and kill 10 guards before you can touch him.
before you can kill your target you have to alert the whole freaking world.
The point of old assassination is not to just kill someone. It is to send a message. The more uproar there is, the more talk there will be. The message will spread further.
Cool. I really enjoyed the first one, and while paling in front of MGS4 in many areas, I did find it to be more immersive, which had to do with the attention payed to the sceneries, background noises, languages, and voice overs. Looks like I'll be getting 4 or 5 games this quarter, and AC2 most likely will be one of them.
New & exotic game play?
Wonder if AC2 will come with motion controls enabled and a mission specifically designed to use them? Perhaps an archery based mission?
Which reminds me in Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2, they have an aiming mechanic that uses one of the sticks. it looks like a perfect candidate for optional sixaxis motion control. Does anyone know if this is an option in the full game?
I loved the first one but this one will be better. Im really liking all the changes and upgrades. I truly appreciate Ubi for listening to gamers. Though POP was good I hope they make some changes in that one too.
I love the first one so much I don't think the missions are repetitive because I enjoyed doing them. I know AC II will be better and I just can't wait to play.
