Not long ago, we learned from a European source that Sony might be releasing a slew of 250GB PS3 Slim bundles in that region; packages included the likes of Uncharted 2: Among Thieves , FIFA 10 , and Assassin's Creed II .
Sony completely denied the existence of the supposedly leaked Uncharted 2 bundle , calling it a "complete fabrication." But now, more evidence has arisen, as Joystiq received a couple images this morning from "an alleged Norwegian GameStop employee." The first image shows what appears to be an internal company e-mail, providing instructions and details concerning the upcoming 250GB PS3 bundles, and the packages listed include ones with Need for Speed: SHIFT and Uncharted 2 . In the second image – shown here – the tipster is showing us the computer screen at the store, which also shows 250GB PS3 bundle SKUs, and you can see one for "Ratchet" right there; this would obviously include Ratchet and Clank Future: A Crack in Time . Thing is, it was SCEA that denied the Uncharted 2 250GB PS3 Slim package; there has been no denial (or confirmation) from SCEE. Therefore, there's a possibility that such bundles may exist, but also might be exclusive to European and PAL regions. Of course, we still believe SCEA has something up their sleeves for the holiday rush…
Even though TGS is a Japanese-centric game show, that doesn't mean they don't make worldwide announcements there, so perhaps we'll learn about the 250GB PS3 Slim – and all possible bundles – at that time. Just a few more days to wait!
i've got friends who actually work in these sorta shops, and word is the 250 is pretty certain.
Awesome! Although I am content with my 60GB… I know that a 250 GB Slim bundle will sell well… Anyways, Best of luck for Sony…
BTW, anyone has news on Crysis 2?
I'll trade you news on Crysis2 for any news you may have on HL Episode 3.
Dude I want my half life episode 3 like wtf valve stop making shitty left for dead 2 and freshen up ur engine for half life episode 3
I just actually ordered a 500GB for my PS3 (fat). I was wondering if doing the full system backup includes the videos that you've purchased from the store. Ben? Anybody?
Yes if you use the back up and restore function it should include any movies your own. I had a few tv shows that I purchased that backed up fine. If you have any rented movies that you haven't watched yet, make sure you watch them before you back up and restore. If you don't the copy write becomes void and the rented movies become unwatchable. Happened to me when I sawpped out my 500gb with the 120gb in my slim. Lost some money.
Thanks a bunch man. BTW, how did you switch the drives in your slim. I didn't see a panel for the tray on my friend's slim. So what about themes, game data, save data, etc. Does everything get backed up? Oh yeah, any problems with overheating, because it happened to him.

The panel is on the front right side. Underneath the blue Ray drive. To take out the hard drive on the slim there's a small latch on the underside of the console. Pop that latch off and the blue screw is exposed. Take the screw out and then facing the front of the console slide the rectangle cover to the right to pop it off. Then you should see the hard drive at that point grab the little handle and pull. It should slide right out. There's 4 small screws too remove just like on the fat model they're just placed differently.
As for any over heating, I haven't experienced any yet. It seems to run a bit cooler then my 60gb model so hopefully I don't have any over heating issues. Is your friends console over heating or the hard drive? I know Sony recommends staying with a 5400rpm drive. The 7200rpms get hot quickly
If you are using the full back up and restore option that's in the System settings then it should back up everything and restore it just as it was. After you restore everything should be there and operate the same. Note: if you ever get a slim and want to back up your data the same way it won't work. You'll have to copy everything manually and redownload all your PSN Content as well as reinstall all your games. a Backup file made on one console will not restore properly on another. Only works if your just changing the hard drive, not if your switching to another console. It's a bummer and something Sony should address. I lost all my KZ2 data because it's locked.

I do appreciate all of the info man, lots. The slim that my friend got has the factory hard drive in it, so I think the console itself is overheating. This is after 8+ hours of gameplay though. He just took the cooling pad that he uses for his HP laptop and put the slim on that. I don't think that he's had a problem with it since then. Just so you know, it was in a well ventilated area with AC. My 80 gig (soon to be 500 🙂 has never had any problems, and I've taken that thing through the ringer. It's even been dropped pretty hard once. It's scratched all to hell due to frequent transportation, but I'd love my scarred baby the same way.
Hmmm…mines never overheated. I've never played it for 8 hours streight though. So well see I guess.
In the image, the firts SKU's description is a 160GB PS3… as long as I know the Slim is 120GB, am I right?
Yes, I'm assuming it's just the old ass Uncharted Fatty bundle.
walked into gamestop today in sweden and they still had some phat models knocking around so it's probably that you're seeing
I installed 250gb in my 'station and seriously, I can't see myself EVER filling it. Its effing HUGE.
Any idea how much Sony plans to charge for this? Seems to me they shouldnt charge anymore then what the 120gb is priced at. Paying 100 more for an extra 130gb when you can get a 500gb on amazon for less then 100 bucks would be a stupid purchase. Yes it comes with Uncharted 2 but still. Sony should have just made the base model 250gb.
I can see the argument for charging $399 for it but I don't know. Might alienate some potential buyers.
I can tell this system will sell really well.
Well..im waiting for the GT5 bundle…im starting to wonder if im gonna have to pay £300 instead of 250 for tha 250GB model hmmm
I already have 3 and each hook to a Bravia hdtv. This is a great deal for those that bargain and don't understand that gaming isn't cheap. Games are more expensive than any console. I have 30 PS3 games 90% of them exclusives.
Probably worth waiting for the 250GB bundle… you get 250GB hard disk and a game for 299 dollars… that is pretty good come to think about it.
Try to purchase everything separately.
Q!
"i am home"
You sure it isnt 399 dollars? The 120gig sells for 299. If I'm wrong on this I will be mighty pleased.
"Thing is, it was SCEA that denied the Uncharted 2 250GB PS3 Slim package; there has been no denial (or confirmation) from SCEE. Therefore, there's a possibility that such bundles may exist,"
your kidding right?
just because sony denies something does not mean its not true.
ive noticed 99% of the time if they say no comment its true, otherwise its being thought of.
how may times did they deny the PSP go or the ps3 slim?
why would sony release said bundles in europe and not in the US, that makes absolutely no seance.
but than neither does releasing games here month or so after the US, so since its sony it wouldent surprise me.
You argue your point than reverse it in the last sentence, nice!
