That Prestige Edition for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 has certainly made some waves but if you're in the UK, you have another option…
According to MCVUK , retailer GAME is exclusively selling the Veteran Edition for both the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. Included in this package is the "hardened edition" of the game, an artbook, a digital code to download Call of Duty Classic , a SteelBook case, a unique gift box, and a Captain Soap MacTavish ultra-premium ARTFX statue. That statue stands a full 12 inches tall and portrays MacTavish in the snow camouflage he dons for the Cliffhanger portion of Modern Warfare 2 . If you'd prefer this over the more expensive Prestige Edition – which is really only more expensive because of those night-vision goggles – you can pick it up at GAME.co.uk for £119.99. It seems that just about everyone wants to have a special package for this impending blockbuster, and perhaps surprisingly, we checked with most all the local GameStops and many say the Prestige Edition is already sold out. Obviously, the fans have no trouble with the price tag. Therefore, why should UK gamers have any issue with this particular bundle? It has some great stuff in it, after all.
If you've had a brain fade, we'll remind you that Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 launches on November 10 in the US…so all the competition may want to run and hide. Oh wait, most already did.

Its not that great. its the same price as the prestige, and includes a stupid figurine. so basically, you choose, do you want a plastic figure or night vision goggles. same damn price. and both crap honestly.
and is game only british? makes sense, we only get the sh*t stuff when it comes to gaming.
not the same price. The conversion comes out to $194.97

all i want is my sweet NV googles
Jury's still out on whether I want this or not, couldn't give a monkeys about prestige or veteran. All that other stuff that comes with the game will just gather dust somewhere in a few months. Hardly gonna sit on me bed with a Mc Tavish doll and play toy soldiers. If they really want to entice more people to buy it (other then the sucka's who blew their wads on the spec. edits), they should do something about the price tag but we all know where they stand on that sticky wicket. Maybe if they saved themselves some money on all the extra crap they're throwing at us and did some price correcting, the game would be more appealling.
Oh but wait…there are idiots who are forking out for the crap…my point null and void!
I'm waiting for the Bargain Bin Edition.
You will be waiting a long time, Modern Warfare 1 is still priced at $50+, Used copies are hard to come by for cheaper than $40.
Thats an interesting point, I've also notice how COD4 is never cheap even when pre-owned its pretty bizzare.
Patience boys….patience!
i have seen plenty of used copies of COD4 for 25 bucks where i live. thats the going rate for all used ps3 games at the pawn shops here.
I'm in the U.K but will be waiting for the second hand edition.
Veteran and prestige are both the same price
Veteran Edition = waste of time.
Who in the right state of mind would buy this, HONESTLY???
I may be one of the few people in the gaming world who DOESN'T like Call of Duty. I mean, come on, how stale can a genre get?
My brother has both CoD 4 and WaW, so I have played, both online and offline, and I was really not impressed. I much prefer Battlefield Bad Company. It just seems to me that everyone jumped on the CoD bandwagon.
And for anyone who says Modern Warfare was different, it wasn't. We have had modern/futuristic FPS' before.
nope i liked COD4 but didnt like the others. I do like first person shooters but i am sceptical about MW2 not only becuase the initial videos dont look much different but also because of activisions hostilitys and its insane pricing along with the need to exploit there consumers with making games that require huge lumps of plastic with them. i think my money(the very little i have) could be spent more wisely on Uncharted 2, as the pricing for MW2 is silly in the uk. the way i see it. pay a tenner less for a far superior game. bargain in my eyes.

Modern Warfare will be a good game, but never as good as COD4. Resistance 2 is a far superior game worth every penny. Activision has gone too far on making more money on an average game.
@Robinhood,
Thumbs up for you! I feel exactly the same way, I way more excited for Bad Company 2, and I know EA isn't too great but as of lately activision made themselves look pretty awful.
Thanks. It's nice knowing that there are people who prefer BC. I am stoked for BC 2!
It's people from the UK that keep COD4 rolling, I swear. Most players I used to hear on COD4 [on the 360] were mainly English. Would make sence for marketing.
I hate how in GAME a copy of COD4 STILL COSTS £39.99. WTF?! IT'S BEEN 2 YEARS. THERE'S A FRIGGING NEWER INSTALLMENT AS WELL.
Well, Bobby KoRichard keeps walking towards the Edge of a cliff. Slowly but surely; his assness is just too strong for balance against COD's shine. He's practically trying to keep it shining by wiping his a** on it not realising his a** hasn't been wiped.
I was never really a fan of CoD until CoD4. CoD: WaW didn't take my breath away, and I was left a little disappointed that I traded CoD4 for it. The only things I prefered WaW for ove MW was Nazi Zombies and trophies.
I also don't care for all the extras. I don't really see the point to be honest. Pay like twice as much for a box to hold the game case in and a lump of plastic? Who needs night vision goggles when a torch is cheaper and the soldier will just be another thing that'll be cast aside as you slowly forget about it.
